I can't see the Big Ten approving any logo with a number embedded in it. That's the whole reason they had to change it. Why stick a "12" in there when conference expansion will probably heat up again in the next few years?

Well they just approved a 1 as a letter replacement, not even a hidden one, surely to set the stage for a 6 added later.

Not so fast on new Big Ten division names

In fact, it sounds like Delany's comments to WGN 720-AM on Thursday are being slightly misinterpreted -- in part because the good man was a little worn from a brief media blitz (nine shows in three days, if my memory serves) to discuss the league's changes.

While Delany meant what he said when he declared "Legends" and "Leaders" will be re-evaluated soon, the Big Ten evaluates and re-evaluates every aspect of its marketing and branding and overall operation all the time.

No, word was that the B10 was going to go through the usual process of "re-evaluating" them. The wording, however, made it seem like they were prepared to change them. I don't think it's going to happen, unfortunately.
