So even what you are saying is that even if you lead with your hands- not your head - you still can not make contact with the other persons helmet? What?

Besides had he wrapped up and taken hit down it would have been called for "excessive _______" because the game has gone soft.

I thought he hit him in the shoulder. It's hard to tell how high/low you need to go when the receiver's in the air and the ball bounced off his hand.

I understand protecting the player - but I don't think it was a bad play by Howard. It was similar to what Ohrian Johnson just did, except his guy was on the ground.

You lead with a shoulder and wrap. Still get the big hit and no chance of drawing the penalty.
