Wrong glass, Sir.
Obviously, the SEC was about as serious about doing away with over signing as Ped State was about distancing itself from JoePed.

Ord, the SEC rule allows back counting, which is where LSU f-ed up. It is a soft cap, as opposed to the B1G hard cap, meaning you have a rule based on the 85, the SEC rule is based upon a cap per class year.ORD_Buckeye;2087751; said:Obviously, the SEC was about as serious about doing away with over signing as Ped State was about distancing itself from JoePed.

They now review red shirts (the Saban rule), but need to get tougher on grey shirting, as that fluid situation is what leads to the current problem.

So you admit the SECs rampant abuse of the intent of NCAA rules regarding recruiting class sizes has provided a decided on-field competitive advantage for the conference?
Finally.
What the Hell Nutria, you tell a kid to come to your school, he leaves high school early at your request with the promise of a scholarship, and when he gets there you tell him to pay his own way? There is no rule that says he cannot get a scholarship if you have less than 85 guys and room in a count back.Nutriaitch;2088069; said:how is this horse crap?
the rule is you can only have as many early enrollments ans you have scholarship players graduating (as in actually receiving a degree) in the fall.
we had 5 guys graduate this fall, and 5 guys enroll.
had a 6th guy graduated, this kid could have enrolled.
by rule, we can not give this kid a scholly until the fall.
if a kid still wants to go to LSU, and enroll this spring, he has to pay his own way for the spring semester.
some kids choose to pay it, some choose to go to a different school.
by rule, this was out of everyone's hands.

Lee did not graduate in December like he was supposed to.
He supposedly graduated early Januay after taking his final class in the Winter intersession.
I haven't been able to find the specific rule though.
Only articles stating # of early enrollees can not exceed graduates in December.
If December is the absolute cutoff date, then Lee not graduating leaves us short a spot for an early enrolee.
If the date is just prior to spring semester, then Lee graduating a month late is not to blame.
