Well now we are into the meat of the conference play and Tressel and the boys have there work cut out for them. Illinois will play us tough for the first half.

No they won't. After the game Tress could be charged with plunger rape. Zook will then get a vote of confidence from their AD.

I know EMU sucks but they are not the worst team in CFB. They played Miami of Ohio and Army tough. They will win 2-3 games this year. I'm not discounting our 73 as much as some people.

Illinois is improved but we will score alot of points. I also believe they will try to throw and pay for it. I see us scoring definately 40+...maybe 50+.

Work on special teams coverage. Get young WR's some reps. Get back-up runningbacks PT. Young DB's need work. This is another game the young guys can get work.

Pryor has 14 TD's overall...after this weekend it would be nice if he had 19-20.

So, I have to ask: What stat are you looking at that predicts what seems to me to be kind of like a "hole in one" prediction? Also, the never a 90 yards play stat is, of course, limited to plays from scrimmage. Mad props to you, of course, if they do get the 90 yard+ play.

Ummmm....

Officially that "prediction" had nothing whatever to do with my BAC at the time of the post.

I hope you mean continue to improve, because they definitely improved against EMU.

Exactly. We all hope that is the case I am sure, they did look pretty good last week. As the season progresses I am confident this will disappear as an area of any concern at all.

I think the Silver Bullets will play lights out in this one, especially after giving up 20 points to a MAC team. This defense will pull together and go out there Sat with something to prove.

The schedule begins to increase in difficulty now. Ohio State has played about the easiest schedule so far of any top 25 team. Opponents to date have a 4-11 record and their SOS's are not that strong. Miami is a much needed good win. The next three games come against teams that are 9-1.

Things seem to be aligning well for the Buckeyes. Illinois is the right team this week with our secondary issues, primarily a rushing attack. Indiana has been explosive on kickoff and punt returns. Hopefully, we see no more injuries this week and the Silver Bullets come with more focus and intensity than last week.

Just got my play in this afternoon for Saturdays game.

Ohio State -18. $550 to win $500. Easy money.

47-10 final score this week and they get their touchdown very late. Illinois defense is going to get shredded this week. The only thing they can hope for is a monsoon and the Bucks to run it down their throats this week. That would mean only a 28-0 win in that case. :oh:

It's bad enough I have to miss OOC games on the [strike]Screw You[/strike] Big Ten Network but when I miss conference games because of it I get pissed off.

I'm sure BTN is great if you have it, but if you don't you've actually lost coverage rather than gained it. Games that used to be picked up as regional "ESPN Plus" games are just not on in your area now.

I can't wait to read about the game after it is over. :ohwell:

Additionally, if anyone knows the restaurant/bar scene, any suggestions would also be appreciated. We're getting into Champaign Friday evening and planning on going out Friday and Saturday. This site lists a few places that might be worth checking out.

http://www.downtownchampaign.com/entertainment/

One place not on that list that is also worth considering would be Crane Alley in downtown Urbana. It's a pretty nice bar with a relaxed atmosphere and some good food. If you want some tasty food after the game I would suggest looking into Zorba's on Green Street. The gyros there are pretty amazing.

Taking 7 yr old son to game......

My plan is to visit each of the Big 10 stadiums (1 a year) as my son grows up. Last year we went to Indiana and it was a great trip. We drove in early, walked around campus, checked out Assembly Hall, played football in the end zone etc......

This year our road trip takes us to Illinois. We are staying 1/2 hour out....How bad is traffic on game day? Is it worth going early and walking around? Any places to park better than others? Can we get into Assembly Hall? Anything thing else that would be cool for a little boy thats insane about sports?

Thanks in advance for your help. After this we only have 9 more road trips.
