Scheelhaase is just a freak athlete learning to play QB. He will make some plays on Saturday. He will probably also make some costly mistakes. Either way, OU or EMU would kill to have a player with his abilities.

Ohio's QB's were runners too. Just not very good passers. Similar to the Illini QB, tho he's probably a better runner with more talent around him.

Well I haven't followed Illinois too much but I thought their QB wasn't that great? Reading some of the posts here sounds like he's Vick2.0?

What's his story? does he have the talent to make us pay on the backend? I'm not worried about the run defense, but color me concerned about our pass D.

I'm not too sure I would worry about our pass D vs. Scheelhaase. I was at the game against Southern Illinois and I was not too impressed with many of his throws.

Against Southern Illinois he actually ended up doing sort-of semi-ok pass-wise. I'm not saying that to disagree with SPONG's point (I don't) but rather to draw a comparison to what Scheelhaase has been against FBS competition. "Dreadful" is far too kind a word. Good runner, but nowhere near TP. Awful, awful passer. Worse than awful.

One-dimensional team vs. the Ohio State defense...

Yeah, good luck with that.

This is the third time out of five games that Eric Collins and Chris Martin will be on the commentary crew for the Buckeyes.

I don't mind Charissa Thompson.

Although OSU won the previous two games, so I can't really complain too much about the commentary.

Yeah, Chris Martin's not bad, if you look past when he confuses Aaron Gant and Posey by claiming that Posey made a tackle on kickoff coverage. :shake:

They've been dreadful this year. How about a bit of help for them from the staffers, eh? How's bout they put together a list of players who are likely to appear on special teams... and let's include their numbers and their names spelled phonetically in that list.

:shake: ... in spades.

But I like hearing about Jake Stonebrunner

Like I said before, Scheelhaase is an absolute freak of an athlete. He can probably dunk a basketball with his feet. He was basically the TP of Missouri HS football. He does not have TP's size, arm strength, or top end speed, but he has more wiggle, and at some point on Saturday, he will attempt to jump over an LB or two. We need to be very physical with him. He's both INT and fumble prone.

I drove an hour and a half to a friends house to watch Ohio State - Indiana 2006. I think you can get it done, Jake.

Only because you don't have any friends within 80 miles of Columbus.

Scheelhaase is probably leading the country in QB hang time. In his last game he went high in the air, bouncing over tacklers, on at least 3 different plays. They look spectacular, but it's a recipe for turnovers and injuries.
