tOSU Recruiting Discussion

If you end up with Okudah, Williamson, the Wades, and/or Holmes, those guys will leapfrog others on the depth chart.
Just like Tyvis Powell was recruited over with Burrows, Smith and co. The same faulty assumption was made about Malik Hooker

The 2016 class is walking into a depth chart with 3 openings and an apprenticeship for the 4th spot after 2016. I'm struggling to see how the 2017 class would get a jump on them a year later. Maybe Denzel, EGW, Damon, Malik lock down all of the spots, but I'd think at least one of the newcomers could make some noise. The experience will be tough for them to overcome, just like it will be for the highly touted 2017 recruits . Furthermore some will be making moves on special teams this fall.

I love the 2017 potential at db but selling the 2016 class short based on high school prominence is a big mistake.

Just wait for next year.
Yeah but I predict such a high average star rating that it won't matter. And I know the staffs view of star rating is all that counts. Point is that the 16 squad will surprise people with the onfield success and prospects for the already few spots will know that jumping on board will likely mean a spot in the 4 team playoff at least once in their career. And they are seeing Buckeyes making serious contributions to Super Bowl teams this year. And they will see several taken high in the draft this year, etc etc. I truly think next year will be more 'selecting' than recruiting. To a level we have never seen before at tOSU.

I haven't watched Burns' film closely enough to have a strong opinion yet, but I'm definitely not sleeping on Felder or Davis (or Fuller, who hopefully becomes a Buckeye soon)...

I'm really high on Felder and Davis after seeing their progress this year. Both had phenomenal senior years and are guys who could really make a mark here early. Fuller could instantly be in the rotation if he comes here.

The Big Board 1/24 edition (in my IMO only):

Jordan Fuller
Sam Bruce
Malik Harrison (if there is room, which it sounds like there is)
1 of Rodjay Burns/Carlos Becker
1 of Jamar King/Keyshon Camp/Karamo Dioubate

Anyone else to consider?
1/27 Update - My how much changes in three days:

In:
Rodjay Burns pounced on his offer, and I cannot blame him

Out:
Sam Bruce - Looks like the numbers crunch got us

Trending Down:
Carlos Becker - Can't see us taking him after Burns
Keyshon Camp - Looks like it's going to be Mizzou; subject to a late visit, it won't be Ohio State
Karamo Dioubate - Again, without a visit and fast, it won't be Ohio State
Jamar King - In light of MSU's posts, it seems like he will most likely end up at Bama. We still have a chance if they continue to slow play him, though.

Trending Up:
Jordan Fuller - All signs point to him being a Buckeye even after his OV to Michigan
Malik Harrison - He will be a Buckeye
K'von Wallace - Insurance policy

Intrigue:
Mecole Hardman - Weird gut feeling that something may come of his relationship with Haskins.
