tOSU Recruiting Discussion

The importance of maintaining a great relationship with STA cannot be overstated, however...especially with the number of STA kids with OSU offers. I imagine STA coaches understand the reality of OSU's situation, but the kids may not see it the same way.
I doubt the kids would take this personally. Especially with talk of Bruce's mom wanting him closer to home at Miami anyway. If we don't have a scholarship open for Bruce because Smith is coming back, then is easily understood by all parties. I think the visit by Richt also may have impressed Bruce, so it all worked out. Would've wanted him, but he can only play offense, and we're now fine at WR, we can use another ATH/WR/DB like Harrison.

And he may have overplayed his hand which would also make a huge difference. Not saying that it has happened, in fact I expect he very well might be in the class but to say that any kid from Ohio gets in regardless is a mistake.
The staff visited him before this weekend and he proceeded to cancel his remaining visits. Do the math on that and it's pretty clear to deduce the outcome...

Sam Bruce is a Top Ten Florida kid. You don't pass on a kid in Florida's Top Ten! He's a game changer at WR and special teams.

Count me as surprised we could possibly pass. I know the staff feels they have needs at DT and DB, but if you look at how well we're set up for the 2017 class at the DB position, it's hard for me to envision a lot of production from the 2016 DB class.
