'05 PA LB Andre Mathis (Tennessee signee)

BSB Premium

He was impressed with what tOSU has to offer. He thought the players were "cool", he liked the facilites and the coaches. Mathis was hosted by Vernon Gholsten.

The coaches told him that if he worked hard he could play as a redshirt freshman which seemed fine to Andre.

He said tOSU would be a perfect place for him, he felt comfortable there. tOSU pushed him a little bit to commit. But he will see Tenn (this weekend w/ McCoy), Iowa (Dec. 17th) and Florida (Jan. 7 w/Worthington).

He likes tOSU because they produce good LB's and they are close to home.

I wonder if they were trying to push him to commit so they could get a good feel on him and see who else they want to go after. I think we have our middle lb in Spitler, and I think we take Felder, Hodge, and McCoy and Lennix as an athlete.

Mathis enjoyed his first two visits to Sparty and then Ohio State. He's looking forward to trips to Tennessee(This weekend) and Iowa. Urban Meyer called him and may take a trip up to Erie to visit Andre. He really likes all 5 schools on his list and he admits his decision is going to be a tough one.

Mathis had a great visit at Ohio State. He thought the players were cool and he liked how honest the coaches were with him about how he'd fit in. He is looking forward to this weekend's visit to Tennessee. Iowa and Florida are still on his list but the Buckeyes and Vols lead.

Andre went to Tenn this weekend and is now done with recruiting. He said the Tenn and tOSU visits were about even- no leader yet. But he will make his decision known on Wec. Dec. 15th. His final four are Iowa, Michigan State, Tennessee, and Ohio State.

One person stood out the most on his visits and it was Rico McCoy. He will talk to Rico one more time before making his decision. Sounds like they want to play together and it will come down to the Vols and Bucks.
