'06 MI WR Anthony Bowman (Iowa signee)

Rivals $ (Iowa)

1/15

Anthony says he is 50/50 right now and will talk with his family and coaches before deciding. The Iowa staff is coming in tomorrow and tOSU will be in to see him this week also.

BSB$

Same as above.

Just some Positive Speculation on my part. I have a feeling when Tressel and company visit him this week, that he and Aaron Gant will commit together. They both attend the same high school, both are super interested in tOSU and finally because I'm totally stoked about the late momentum were getting here at the end of this recruiting season.

:oh:

changing the thread title to reflect that he is no longer being listed as an Iowa verbal...

Interesting to note that Anthony could end up at any number of positions at OSU. While OSU is recruiting him as a WR, he could also end up as another 3rd-down type back behind Mo Wells or could end up as a DB. He fits the JT style of recruiting to a tee...

Rivals $ (Iowa site)

1/17

The Iowa coaches were in last night to make their pitch to Bowman. tOSU's coaches will be in either Wednesday or Friday. Anthony hopes to make a decision by the end of this week. He says that both schools are still neck and neck.

My Take: JT's visit this week may seal the deal on this one...

If both schools are neck and neck after a visit from the Hawkeye staff you have to feel good about this one. This falls into the Duane L's golden rule, if you do not lead after a visit, you prob will not win.

Let's hope.

Per today's Dispatch....

This past weekend, among the players who showed up for official visits at OSU were receiver Damon McDaniel of Virginia Beach, Va., who is committed to Florida, and allpurpose player Anthony Bowman of Orchard Lake, Mich., who has committed to Iowa.

While McDaniel could not be reached for comment, Bowman said he was now "50-50" in considering OSU and Iowa. He also said the only thing that counts officially in recruiting is the letter of intent.
"I felt I committed to Iowa so early, I didn’t really have a chance to consider anywhere else," Bowman said. "I just want to see what another place is like."

Let's hope none of our current commits feel that "the only thing that counts officially in recruiting is the letter of intent". This is definately a strange year for Buckeye recruiting, with so many verbals from other schools still in the mix (or rumored to be). Usually seems like it's the other way around for us.

I'll post the same thing here that I did in the Olson thread:

me said:
instead of everyone guessing, let's just wait and see...we will all know soon enough. everyone thought Miller was going to Pitt and now if you read back through his thread, you have to sift through 5 pages of "Sound like Pitt to me..." posts...

Ok...i'll be "board PC". I think Bowman would be a great addition to this class as a guy who follows the tread of players who can play multiple places on the field. One could assume that with him re-thinking his commit to Iowa around the same time all the Gant talk came up, that we have a pretty good shot with both.

:wink2: Better guys?

if you read back over the last few pages, I think you will find that several people would agree with you...
