'07 AR RB Broderick Green (USC signee, Arkansas transfer)

Rivals has Scott listed as a Sr, so I was under the impression he was gone. But even still, with Kinlaw and Scot, they would be gone in a year, paving the way for Green. We'll just have to see how it all plays out in the coming weeks.

Your forgetting AJ Wallace, who got plenty of PT at RB this year as a true freshman. Plus Derrick Williams gets reps back there with Scott and Kinlaw.
This is a very hypothetical question, but would Green have a better chance to play as a true frosh than Boom because of size? Boom seems like the kind of recruit who wouldnt have a real problem with a red shirt.
I really don't think that the rb has to do with size. I think that it really comes down to how they can handle the beating. Sometimes the size helps but alot of your bigger backs will try more to run people over rather than juke them out and not take the full hit.

I am sure you remember Pittman after his freshmen year just saying he needed to get stronger so he could take the pouding.

At this point even if we do sign Green I don't see us being able to redshirt Boom. We need at least a pair and a spare.

Pittman is a great example, though he has proven to be a special type of back - not saying that Boom won't be as well, of course. I can't wait to see how they use Saine - his speed looks ridiculous on tapes.

FYI - Green is scheduled for an official at tOSU the weekend after next (26th), his last visit.

Checked with PSU fans, and they brought up Royster as a strong possibility in 08

People seem to be forgetting about Evan Royster. He didn't receive a lot of press coming out of high school, because he was injured the summer between his junior and senior years and didn't get to go to any camps (where players "earn" their star rankings). But he was named the Gator Aid Player of the Year in Virginia (ahead of Percy Harvin, the nation's number 1 overall player that year). He had offers from Florida, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, as well as a ton of other high profile schools. Reports out of practice seem to indicatee he is doing very well. He could start ahead of a lot of other other backs.

Wow...that was an unexpected visit from the Tressel boys!!

I couldn't even imagine the hall of Green, Saine, and Herron!

The only thing Green seems to need is a better burst

You mean the haul...

Also one thing to think contimplate, if we are able to pull in Green, it could possibly elinate having to take a fb next year, If for a reason he gets behind Saine and Herron on the depth chart and they bring in two top backs next year Watson/Womble/etc. they could bulk Green up and move him to fb.

Not saying he is a fb, but if needed he could be...

This could also have a future impact on how we recruit Devoe Torrence...he may get an offer purely as a LB if we are able to land 3 RBs in this class. It could also have an effect on a recruit like Richard Watson.

Sorry. You didn't spell anything incorrectly.
