'07 AR RB Broderick Green (USC signee, Arkansas transfer)

Do you think OSU is waiting to offer until they determine:

a) How interested he is (easier to gauge during a visit)
b) Until they are sure Clay is a Badger
c) Whether Pittman is going pro?

My thinking is they are first going to see if the kid is really interested or if he just wants to take a few free trips.

Keep in mind the same kid verbaled early to USC and then in other articles said he was dead set on going there.

I think that the best the we could hope for is second in this race, b/c I just see him wanting a few free trips.

If you not a fan of either of those teams, then who in their right mind would want to go north for a visit!!!!!

A kid from the south normally likes warmer climates so i think we have a very good shot at this kid . :osu: :oh: :io:

I graduated from his high school- definitely a talented kid. Scott Loucks (former basketball coach) actually is originally from ohio (i think he told me cincinnati b/c that's where i'd moved from). I wouldn't get my hopes up for him- i'd still say if it's not usc, probably arkansas (where his brother stephen green, former 4-star safety prospect, is running track).

Siloam Springs Brace For Offensive Juggnaut

LITTLE ROCK -- Pulaski Academy's offensive numbers are ridiculous.

There is quarterback Stefan Loucks, who through the regular season has completed 70 percent of his passes for 3,373 yards with 42 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

He's going to play at Texas Tech next year.

Then, there is running back Broderick Green and his 1,503 yards rushing with 16 touchdowns. Green also has caught 25 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns.

He's going to Southern Cal.

Finally, there is University of Arkansas' prize wide receiver recruit Brian Langford. Langford has a team-high 86 receptions for 1,184 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also has a rushing touchdown.

The Bruins move the ball through the air, on the ground, and if a football field had water on it, they would probably figure out a way to score there, too.

"They are very talented, very good at what they do," said Siloam Springs coach Clint Ashcraft.

Tonight's 7:30 p.m. kickoff will be the first-ever meeting between the Panthers (7-3) and the Bruins (9-1), now that P.A. has been bumped into Class 5A from 3A over the summer.

Ashcraft knows the test Siloam Springs will face in Little Rock.

"They are similar to Morrilton or Greenwood," Ashcraft said, comparing P.A.'s offense to what he has seen in the 5A-West conference. "They are just as athletic. The thing that is different is that P.A. does a lot more gimmick plays and trick plays."

The Panthers have been working all week on identifying what gimmicks the Bruins may call tonight. They reviewed years of tape and talked to coaches statewide.

Siloam Springs' game plan tonight is simple: Keep the Bruin offense off the field for as long as possible.

"Our offense has to do a good job of keeping their offense off the field," Ashcraft said. "We need to control the tempo of the game. Defensively, we have to get some stops and force them to punt the ball."

P.A. has only punted seven times this season and are 20 of 38 on fourth-down conversions (53 percent).

Ashcraft will call on quarterback Nathan Nall to lead the offense in his first playoff start.

Through 10 games, Nall has completed nearly 54 percent of his passes for 1,938 yards with 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Nall's neophyte status in postseason competition does not concern his coach.

"Not after playing the teams in our league. Every week is a battle -- playing Morrilton and Greenwood, playing at Alma. After 10 weeks in our league, he is battle tested," Ashcraft said.

And Nall has his share of weapons. Senior Trent Budder leads the team with 40 receptions for 615 yards and four touchdowns. He has also returned two kickoffs and one punt for touchdowns.

Tyler Ivey is the Panthers' top rusher with 397 yards.

But Siloam Springs does not want to find itself in a score-for-score shootout with the talented P.A. offense.

"That would be suicide," Ashcraft said.

Pulaski Academy Bruises Siloam Springs

LITTLE ROCK -- The points came in a hurry and there was little Siloam Springs could do about it.

Whether into the wind or with the strong night gusts at their backs, the Pulaski Academy Bruins soared en route to a 50-7 victory over the Panthers in Friday night's first round of the Class 5A state football playoffs.

PA's All-State quarterback and Texas Tech commit, Stefan Loucks, was poised, elusive and deadly accurate in piling up 260 passing yards on 18 of 21 passing with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

"Stefan played his best game tonight," Bruins coach Kevin Kelley said. "Maybe not stat-wise, but, man. He avoided the blitz, picked out the right guys on the right reads and made great throws into the wind.

"We saw (Siloam's) quarterback struggle into the wind. Our quarterback didn't struggle into the wind. He just does well when the pressure is on. The playoffs are his time."

In the first half, Siloam Springs had tallied just 45 yards of offense and found themselves heading into the locker room down 36-0 at the break. The mercy rule was in affect for the entire second half.

"It was a combination of several things tonight," Siloam Springs coach Clint Ashcraft. said "(Pulaski Academy) was just the better football team tonight."

The Bruins (10-1) need just 1:31 seconds to score on the game's opening possession, capped by a Broderick Green 2-yard touchdown. Green, who finished the night with 84 yards and two scores, is committed to play for Southern California next season.

The next time PA touched the ball, it was Loucks turn to get into the scoring column with a 22-yard pass into the wind which found wide receiver and Arkansas commit Brian Langford in the corner of the end zone on a perfectly thrown ball at the corner pylon.

Langford finished the night with 102 yards with seven receptions.

Four Siloam Springs turnovers in the second quarter led to three more Bruin touchdowns and the rout was on. The Panthers had a total of five touchdowns for the game.

"We turned it over five times on offense. When we did have the ball on offense we couldn't get anything going," Ashcraft said. "And their offense is so high powered, it was just a terrible matchup."

Siloam Springs' only score came in the fourth quarter on a Nathan Nall 1-yard sneak on fourth down.

Nall, the Panthers' junior quarterback, looked to have problems with the weather conditions and finished the night just 16 of 33 passing for 115 yards and three interceptions.

For the game, Siloam Springs (7-4) tallied just 150 yards of offense.

"Our defense wanted to make a statement and I think they did that tonight against a pretty good team from the West conference, which is supposed to be the best in the state," Kelley said.

Pulaski Academy advances to play at No. 1 Camden Fairview.
