'07 GA ATH Vance Cuff (Georgia signee)

added photos, Rivals link and helemt to the first post. FYI, Colquitt County HS is in the AAAAA division in Georgia, which I believe is the same as D1 here in Ohio. Someone correct me if I am wrong on that...

again the issue comes up of when these articles were written and how the interview is being paraphrased. in an article on 7/1 he told a BSB reporter that OSU was his clear leader and he never really liked UGA growing up, but did follow UF and FSU. then on 7/24 a UGA reporter for Rivals quotes him as saying that his top 3 in order are Georgia, Florida and Ohio State. then in Dave's article published on 7/25 on BN he has quotes from Vance stating that OSU is still his clear leader, with Georgia catching up and Florida not even being mentioned, other than by Biddle when listing his offers. I think it is important to mention that sometimes a writer may sit on an interview for a few days, waiting for a slow recruiting news day, or may only use part of the recruits comments in his article. just remember that unless you know the recruit personally and are speaking directly to him, all this info appears through the eyes of the beholder...whether that be the writer trying to write something positive for his school/team or it be a fan interpreting things the way they want to.

I agree... This can't be that old, as Georgia has just recently offered, but it definitely could have been done before his Florida offer, with the offer only noted later.

I honestly feel that if hes this strong on the Buckeyes without ever visiting Columbus, he could be ours on either an official or unofficial visit. He already realizes that OSU has the best shot to put him in the pros, and when he sees the new amenities we are building, realizes how big of a rivalry game he would step into, and how devoted our fans are - hes ours. He noted in the BN article that he thought Henton was a great QB and Im sure if Henton could leave the south to come here, his word could be the breaking point for Cuff to come as well.

Henton didnt have offers from Georgia, Florida and Auburn though.

If OSU is as interested in Vance as Vance is in OSU then hes most likely a Buckeye.

Yeah, I think he didnt get many offers because of his slow (and injured) start. By the end of the season (after he was committed to the Buckeyes) he was one of the best - if not the best - QBs in Georgia while leading his team to the state title after sitting out games to an injury. Im sure if he reopend his recruiting midway through the college season (October/November) he would have garnered more offers. Schools tend to fade - except ND :tongue2: - after you give your verbal.

But back to Vance. I just love how the kid is this excited without ever being to Columbus. We snagged both Mo Wells and Henton from Georgia, so this would be a gem to get a 3rd. IMHO, our facilities, stadium, traditions, rivalry, and campus trumps Georgia's ten fold. Once he gets a look at what it would be like to be Buckeye, we have him.

not to nit-pick but Mo is from Sandalwood, FL...but we did snag both out of the South.

Damn, thats right. It must be because he was deciding on possibly going to GTech that gets me mixed up. Either way, our Southern recruiting record speaks for itself and it speaks volumes.

I guess I just loved OSU when I attended it so much that even as a Columbus citzen born and raised, it amazed me daily. Knowing that this kid hasnt seen 105,000 seat Horseshoe and the rest of the facilities is what has me drooling on just one visit....just one...

BSB $

By Adam Jardy...this article says Georgia is his top school right now, but that often changes day-to-day (I think that answers some questions). Lots of positives for OSU in this update...

would the db in question that may be curtailing osu's interest in cuff happpen to be james s? wait, that's too obvious, let's call him j scott.

if so, is osu willing to wait it out and risk possibly missing on both?
