Two years ago, E.J. Woods was in a whole different world.
Attending Santa Monica High School in California, Woods' grades were beginning to slip. As with most teenagers in public schools, he was concerned about popularity, what clothes he had on and being in the 'in' crowd. And while he excelled on the football field, he wasn't maximizing his potential.
It certainly wasn't the worst of situations, but something had to change.
That change came after his sophomore season, when Woods transferred to Crespi Carmelite, a private, college prepatory Catholic school about a 25 minutes up the 405 highway in Encino.
