I am pretty sure Groeschen gets 90-95% of his high school information from Yappi. Ironically, yesterday or the day before, someone on Yappi referenced to the BG article from 12/6 that's linked in this thread. So basically, I am going to say that Groeschen just recycled what's been known for about two months without adding any new information.

you are correct. Groeschen trolls Yappi for every single lead he writes about...sometimes, yappsters have been known to post false injury information just see how long it takes Groeschen to call the school and post the rebuttal on his blog. Kerry Coombs probably got tired of getting calls from the guy to get info on Mister Simpson's broken leg. :wink2:

in any event...

in my opinion, Ashley's stock dropped last year. His production numbers weren't down, but his number of carries were unbelievable. I hope x has a competent back up to take some of the load off because a 179lb RB could get killed playing the schools that x does this year...

Hopefully Luca Romeo (FB/back up HB) will progress in the off season to be able to take more carries from Ashley. Also, the passing game this past year was virtually non-existant. X has two D1 prospect WRs next year, and a QB who shows potential. If X can put together a good enough line (which can be a big "if") then I wouldn't worry about Ashley getting too many carries because the offense will be more ballanced.

thanks for the insight. Eric Ball's kid is one of those WR's right?
Has Ashley put on any weight since the end of last season?

Stephon Ball (http://www.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=60763) and John Sheidler (http://www.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=61038) are the two WRs, and from what I understand Stephon is Eric Ball's kid.

Are you talkin about putting on any weight from the end of his sophomore or junior year? I know he put on some weight after his sophomore season (I thought I heard like 10lbs? I'm really not too sure though).

Edit: Darius' Official info is 5'9 1/3-184.3-4.44

Rumored to have picked up an offer from Tennessee today.

Compiling quite the offer sheet considering the knock on his size.

Really don't get why people still knock RB's who are shorter than 6-ft. nowadays. I can name you tons of great backs who were 5'10 or shorter.

The greatest back that I've ever seen play on any level was 5'8.

IIRC, the last time OSU passed on a talented in-state back because of size was Sutton. Not going to say it bit you guys because you had Pittman, who was a very underappreciated back BTW, and you landed Chris Wells, but Sutton is much better than the kid you took from Florida and he could play for any school.
