'08 OH RB/LB Devoe Torrence (Akron signee, transfer to ??)

Oh man this is great news!

This is why I love Buckeye Planet. Thanks BP and thanks and welcome Devoe!!!

One question: LJB mentioned that if he is drafted by MLB in early rounds it might be hard to turn down. When does that happen, and if he did decide to go baseball, would tOSU have time to react?

LBJ was talking about Devon Torrence, not Devoe. The draft is in early june and if Devon was to go the baseball route it would open up another scholly for this class.

Congratulations to Devoe and the whole Torrence family. That must really make a mother proud to have both sons going to the same University. Devoe really excels on both sides of the ball but I think he definitely ends up on the offensive side of the ball.:oh::io:

CANTON TWP. As DeVoe Torrence pondered a commitment to Ohio State late Monday night, he looked to older brother Devon for advice.

"He told me I should wait for a special day," DeVoe said of Devon, who already has signed to play football with the Buckeyes next fall. "I said, 'Any day is special. I'll do it tomorrow.'

"He said, 'Come join the family.' "

It will be a Torrence family affair in Columbus. DeVoe verbally committed to Coach Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes on Tuesday afternoon.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Just when you think brothers Devoe and Devon Torrence would be getting tired of each other, they want to stick together. That's one reason Devoe Torrence, a running back from Canton South, decided yesterday to become the fourth commitment to the Ohio State football recruiting class of 2008. His older brother (by one year and four days) Devon, a receiver, signed with the Buckeyes in February.
