'08 OH TE/DE Kevin Koger (Michigan signee)

That's gotta help tOSU's cause-Moore and quite possibly Baldwin in the same class can't look good for a 3rd TE recruit. I believe I read somewhere that scUM told Kevin they are recruiting him as a DE.

Koger has been told by UM that he could play whichever position he wanted, TE or DE. I see him as more of a TE personally, but with a frame like that and that athletic ability of his he could be an All-Big 10 DE as well.

Baldwin isn't a TE recruit, he's a WR recruit. The kid placed 3rd in the state in the 100m's with a time in the 10.8's as a soph. Yeah, he's 6'6, 225 pounds but he has WR speed and athletic ability. Reminds me of alot of a Plaxico Burress but without the attitude problems. He's been UM's #1 WR target for oh, I don't know, ever.

Last but not least and I might get ragged on for this, but what's up with the scUM comments? This one of the best boards out there and it's because name-calling, trash-talking, flamers, and spammers are virtually non-existent. Yeah, I get it's an OSU board, but the whole "scUM" thing, well, I never really got it I guess.

It's an O$U board if you ask you UM bretheren on GBW. Lecture them.

First interesting reportage on the flexibility TSUN shows for Koger.

Basically, the accepted rule amongst Buckeye faithful is no mention by name of the school you favor, hence the variety of non-reverential references, some more imaginative than others.

Just a quick run-down. TSUN is one of the nicknames for well the school you faithfully follow, sometimes you will even see a reference to UM, though that is a rare sighting, somewhat like hen's teeth. "SCUM" is the more pejorative term, Wolverweenies is the high-school equivalent (I think of it that way at least), and MeatChicken is typically reserved for when one of TSUN's players goes off half cocked before, after or during The Game.

My advice - ignore it. Also, notice how the Buckeye faithful don't have any creative nicknames for, say, Purdue or Minnesota. Once you become plain old Michigan, then you're in trouble.

From TheWolverine...decision could come next month between Michigan and OSU.

Nothing new...I'm sure UM would have loved to have him commit while he was there for camp. OSU gets the next shot this weekend.

For those who are still wondering why OSU did not give Brandon Moore much of a look, check out Koger's film. Like Stoneburner, Koger really blurs the line between a pass catching TE and a WR. Forget about the other TEs, he makes some of the DBs look slow out there on the field. Also a great looking prospect on defense, although not as explosive as someone like Thomas. This is going to be a guy that other teams have to gameplan for, regardless which side of the ball he plays. Koger is right on top of the wish list now, just a shade below Pryor.

Wow...Koger is no joke. Unbelievable athleticism and strength. I would be a very happy camper if Koger became a Buckeye. I'll admit I was singing a different tune when we offered but...trust the staff

great speed in the open field, adjusts to the ball well, seems to find holes in the defense...I think I like his film better than Brandon Moore's...and I am just not saying that b/c UM has Moore.

I really like Koger as well!

To play on the local grocer..."let's go Kogering..."

(lame...I know)

By BK...talks about OSU's camp and says a decision could come in the next month or so.

Not bad news, but would certainly like to see us as at least the temporary leader coming out of camp.

If a kid leaves campus with us no better than even, I get a bit pessimistic. Sounds like there is work to do, but hopefully the staff can get him in S&G.
