'09 OH DB Brad McDougald (Kansas Signee)

Nothing surprises me anymore about offers flying out. There's no doubt in my mind that JT is thinking of closing out this class early and focus solely on the season at hand. I am sure there are some other prospects out there whom we haven't thought of seriously that the Buckeyes are pursuing.....e.g, I came across Rodney Smith, a WR out of FL (4-star according to Scout) whom we haven't offered yet, but the kid has us at the top of his list as per an interview a couple days ago! I believe he's been talking to Brandon McGee a lot!

The pressure is on the recruits.....verbal or get left behind!

Agreed. I think the strategy is to focus on one to three top prospects by early December. Then spend the remaining time on next years class. This occurred last year and i believe is the Bucks new strategy.

Since the Rivals article hasn't been summarized yet.....

Rivals $

5/20

From BG....Ohio State has offered. Says he is very enthusiastic about the offer, but doesn't want to disregard his other offers. Says that he has a great relationship with the coaches from Wisconsin & Michigan State.

By Bill "Bank" Greene...McDougald does not think he will issue a verbal this weekend at OSU camp. OSU is one of his leaders and does not have a timeframe for his decision.

I think the recruitment of Brad comes down to whether JT truly wants him in this class or not. If our recruiters come at him big time this weekend, I have no doubt that he is gonna be a Buckeye soon after if not this coming weekend itself. I for one hope that we do, as I think that the kid is a stud and I would love to see him S&G!

Having said that, if he is serious about the Buckeyes, it wouldn't be smart for him to hang around too long to issue a verbal commitment. I don't think this Buckeye recruiting train is waiting for anyone.

$cout 6/20 by Bill Greene

Brad loved his camp experience. He says there are probably no more visits for him, and a decision may come next week.

(treadmill banana, please)

Brad is less aggressive with Brian Snow:

Rival$ (6/20)

Says he had a great time, but not ready to name a leader.

I think his recruiting is done!

It was just a matter of feeling wanted by the Buckeye coaching staff. The fact that he was all that was advertised during the camp makes me want this kid here more than ever. I think this guy's a done deal! Go Bucks!

It's now or never for a lot of kids with offers...Brad may fall into that category...

Brad's all Buckeye. By the sound of that article yesterday on Scout, it sounded like he has all but made up his mind. I wouldn't be surprised to see his commitment coming up shortly. There were a lot of "future all-Big Ten" comments thrown at Brad yesterday by our coaching staff....they truly believe that this kid's gonna be another great Buckeye.
