'09 OH OL Chris Freeman (Missouri Signee)

On the topic of monster DTs, look last year what Alan Branch did for Michigan. 6'6, 330 lbs but was fairly quick and nimble for his size. He was essentially the main reason why we had the #1 rush defense. Guys like that tend not to put up pretty stats (I think Branch had 25 tackles total) but that's because they're being doubled and tripled every snap. I'd take a flier on this kid for sure.

Feels good to see a kid come from my alma mater and see he has the potential to actually be a Buckeye. I see John Lumpkin every now and then and he has me worried bout the kids drive for football. Freeman see's his self as a b-ball player. He figured he could do both since Lumpkin did for a few years at OSU. Doesn't realize 6'8 300lbs will get you very far with football as in the pros if he gets better. He's not even a D-1 prospect in b-ball.:osu:

TWOOD BUCK97

T-Wood Buck. I too have Trotwood connections. I'm speaking of "current" football connections not guys from the past. All I hear is this. Freeman has taken football serious and as a result is becoming a player every school that takes a look at and meets with this kid comes away impressed and either makes an offer or acknowledges a forthcoming one. Football is where the kid belongs and from what I hear he has been told that for many years. The most important thing now is he also realizes it and has apparently embraced it completely. From what I have been told Florida's offer is coming any day, Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, Oklahoma, LSU and the list goes on and one are all getting in line. These are big programs and not flukes. In hand offers from Kentucky, Miami (FL), and even Nebraska are nothing to look past. Folks these are big time programs from major conferences. Trotwood should be embracing and being proud to have another kid about to make it out. I hope we have a shot at getting him. Are we interested in the kid at all? Obviously he is legit. In terms of basketball I hear he has an offer from a low level D-1 school if he wanted it. Why would he? Let's step up Bucks!!!!:oh::io:

FREEMAN TO FLORIDA????

I hear the kid has been dealing with Florida quite a bit. If they have offered as I just read, that has to mean something about this kid. We can't keep staying back. Some people keep implying that Trotwood Madison players are not Ohio State caliber or level of players. That can't be said anymore. Florida kicked our butts and are most definitely on the same level as we are.... It would be really bad to lose a kid like this who was in our backyard.

Relax...the staff is still evaluating and with Jenkins headed to WVU and Omameh signing with UM there will be another OL spot open in the '09 class...

LSU has offered.

Film:

My Take: The first thing you notice is the frame...prototype length and plenty of room for development. Chris moves well and his time on the basketball court is obvious...nice fluid strides. Everything else in terms of OL play needs work but the upside is worth the time.

I have not watched the video, but it would be hard for somebody that big to move well as a OT, imo. Stick him a guard and let him be a mandhandler vs. opposing bullrushers at DT.

2/15

From the Michigan site. Freeman says he is waiting for offers from Michigan and Ohio State and that he likes both programs. He says that it would be nice to play with his teammates at Michigan.

Man if I lose another kid from my school to scUM I'm gonna cry. I don't see what there is to evaluate if he is getting offers from the two schools that handled OSU two games in a row for it all. I'll support him, but...that would suck if he goes up north.
