Top four of LSU, USC, UCLA, and OSU. Plans on camping at Ohio State, and is very interested in checking out the school.

My take: The Buckeye staff has consistently shown that they will not reach on local players, especially on the offensive line. If Ohio State "misses" on Chris Watt, then look for the staff to find a highly-ranked out-of-state OL prospect to fill the spot ... or be satisfied with just three OL in this class.

I like this kid more already.

Deseret News | Recruiting process has been more fatiguing than fun for Utah prep athlete
After some small talk with the offensive line coach, Fighting Irish head coach Charlie Weis took the phone and began talking with John.
"He asked me if I was interested in Notre Dame ... and I said I'm sorry coach, but I don't think I am," John said matter-of-factly. "I felt bad. It's the first college coach I've turned down. But I thought it was time for me to be honest."

I could be wrong but i believe back in 2002 we offered a DT (Nagoti SP?)who went to OR., later drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.
I believe you're correct. Good memory. I believe the kid was Samoan. Not sure she was drafted. I think you might be thinking of someone else in that regard... but I might be wrong:wink2: back to John.

You are. :p

Haloti Ngata did attend high school in Salt Lake City before attending Oregon and being drafted 12th overall by Baltimore.

By Bill Kurelic...Martinez will be at Ohio State for the June 20th camp with his father. He has 30+ offers but is mainly interested in Ohio State, USC, UCLA, and LSU.

Seems the kid is genuinally interested in Ohio State. With Watt being a very high possibility I'm not sure of how hard the staff will be going at him though. Also going to be tough to pull him from that far away with USC and UCLA involved.

You just don't say "no" to a top-100 prospect, especially one who is willing to travel half-way across the country on his own dime to check out your program. The staff will give it their best shot, with no "cold shoulder" treatment.

Agreed that USC is the leader here.

I agree. I just don't know how it would affect Watt. I also do not know who you push out if both Watt and Martinez want to come aboard. I don't see us saying "no" by any means though.
