'12 PA S Demetrious Cox (Michigan St. Verbal)

I really thought Cox was an after thought at this point. They obviously have not given up on him and with our limited scholarships, does anyone think this says something about Bogard's intentions? I figured Bam Bradley was Bogard's backup plan.

I don't think this has anything to do with Bogard Mercer. I think it's more that there is one offer on the table for Bradley or Cox. They want a safety for depth and whoever wants the spot most will take it. No way we take both, but I think the staff is pressing to get either, and once someone accepts, it's au revoir to the other.

I figured both were not in the plans, but with limited scholarships I would think that neither of their offers are commitable right now... It just seems with all the rumors floating around about Bogard's academics and USC visit that there could be something else here.

Hope you are right and Bogard remains a Buckeye and makes the academic requirements.

If Bogard has academic issues he is not getting into USC. OSU and USC are similar.

You don't have to have been following recruiting for very long to see that his means OSU and Cox are probably going in different directions...you can likely cross him off your wish list.

Visiting this weekend.

So this is pretty much shows how crazy the last two weeks has been. This + the ship sailing in Marcus's thread, just goes to show that you can't count anyone out.

ESPN - Cox figures out weekend plans

1/17

Four-star Jeannette (Pa.) safety Demetrious Cox has two visits left and three teams vying for them. Cox decided on one of those teams and visits Tuesday.

On Friday, Cox will officially visit Ohio State instead of Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He originally was planning to visit Columbus this past weekend but went to Penn State instead.

Buckeyes coaches Urban Meyer and Luke Fickell visited with Cox on Tuesday. Penn State assistant Larry Johnson and two other Lions assistants, and Wisconsin assistant Chris Ash and a few other Badgers coaches also visited Cox at the school.
