#15 Michigan State 62, #16 Ohio State 59 (final, 2OT)

Realistically, we did not deserve to win. Our shot selection was horrible. There are some good things to take away. Great defense. But, very disappointing. I hope we are not too tired for Wisconsin.

Thad has some real coaching magic to do.

I would have to disagree on deserving to win comment, we played hard and very tough defense, somedays the shots don't fall. The difference between winning and losing this game is a few open threes that go down.....

We play Whisky on Wednesday, I doubt they will be tired, but I guarantee they will be angry....

The Buckeyes are 12-2, seems to be a good record, but when you factor in they've lost their 2 biggest games of the season, 12-2 doesn't look as good anymore. Don't get me wrong, this is a decent team, but there are alot of decent teams in the Big 10. Getting a W on the homecourt vs. a traditional Big 10 power after a good start to the season by the Buckeyes was crucial. Now they are just a .500 team in the conference.

That's the way it goes in conference play, especially against the upper tier. I liked the way the Bucks battled regardless of the shooting. It's still early, and playing a tough game against a solid opponent will benefit us later.

I just walked home from the game and I am EXHAUSTED. Hang out in the student section for a double OT game and it is something else. The crowd did all they could tonight..just wasn't meant to be. Great halftime moment though. Tressel, Gene Smith, Troy, Patterson, and Ginn came out with the Fiesta Bowl trophy and Smith and Tressel spoke. Teddy and Troy were sitting next to the student section and when they first came in we gave each of them "Hey Troy O-H!" He gave back the I-O. But when we did it to Teddy he was a little slower. He got distracted by the autographs but he came around and returned the I-O. They were into it also. The men played hard but needed to step up one more time at the end. It kinda sucks losing to the only two good teams we've played this year but we'll be OK.

Sorry, just back from the game, so these thoughts probably have been posted already.

1) Didn't this look like a Pitino-Kentucky team, especially in the first half. Lots of threes .... and too few going in. I thought we were getting good looks. Shots just didn't fall.

2) Both teams were exhausted. I turned to my buddy late in regulation and said something about conditioning being a key.

3) Terrible decisions in the second overtime. I'm sorry, but a senior doesn't go for a double-team with the shot clock running out with the ball in the hands of the opponent's center at the three point line (leaving his man for a wide-open dunk). Then, gets the ball taken for a breakaway while signaling whatever with the off hand.

All this said, this team has heart. Matta is a warrior, and he inspires his players, getting everything he can out of them.

Bring on Wisconsin.

Great observation. I saw Syl make that double-team and Davis was on the baseline without the ball. Terrible decision making.
