High School 2005 Big 33 Game

Yeah, the mercy rule definitely swung momentum, but the fact is Ohio scored 28 points in the first quarter and only 6 since then.

I'll say this much, Cinci can have the QB Goodman. I'll take Schoenhoft. Unfortunately, Goodman seems to be getting more PT.

Re: OH/PA Big 33 <HR SIZE=1><!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Rob Schoenhoft<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Anyone who's read my posts throughout this thread knows the deal on Robbie. When he steps up and throws the ball, he's at or near 100% competition, if he doesn't he hasn't completed a pass. I believe if he can learn to step into every throw and follow through he'll be the next QB when Smith and Zwick leave...and OSU won't miss a beat. If not, he's just average. Also the commentators keep saying he doesn't have great speed and he's a pocket passer...I somewhat disagree. Yes, he's not Mike Vick, however, he's not John Navarre either. He's shown pretty good mobility both in and out of the pocket. So far he seems to be taking advantage of the man-to-man coverage on no blitzing.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Mario Manningham<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Manningham looks excellent so far, he's shown great speed, good cuts and route running. He's going to be something special. My only beef with Mario is it seems like he's either used to playing in the slot or not comfortable getting up on the line of scrimmage. The OH team has a penalty called on them because he wasn't up...and a couple other time it looked like the refs let him slide. Other than that this kid is a competitor, you could tell he was focus from the interviews and how he ran 25 yards down field to celebrate with WR #10 after a TD. Also he's got to be more consistant...go 100% every snap.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Brian Hartline<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Hartline is BACK! Hartline has shown great speed and catching ability. He looks fully healed and ready to go. He plays just like a young man from that school up north named Steve Breaston. Just not as much flash and he doesn't run the exact same way, but both are longstridders. He along with Lyons and Dukes are the future at WR for OSU.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Brian Robiskie<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Brian made a great catch midway through the first half, but hasn't been open much after that. He's going to have to get faster if he's going to be threat on the next level...right now he looks like strictly a possession receiver.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Mister Simpson<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Simpson looks just like a guy Michigan has a few years ago...B.J. Askew. He's a RB/FB hybrid that plays like a mixture of the two. Not a flashy player, but solid.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Andre Amos<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - One word describes Amos. Playmaker. This guy has a knack for the big play and it shows! Personally I feel he's best suited for safety at the next level because he doesn't have great acceleration. He has excellent speed, but it takes him a little longer to get up there...therefore player WR may not be best for him. And the fact that he takes risks and goes for the big play could hurt him at CB, however if I were a QB I'd fear the secondary seeing him roaming around looking for the big hit or INT...if OSU puts him at safety he could flourish into in NFL prospect IMO...he's that good.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Lawrence Wilson<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Wilson is a freak, he's had at least 4 plays where he just wasn't going to be blocked. He's also a playmaker at DE. The only knock on him is he seems to always be after the QB, he could be out of position on a draw or screen. Also stopping the run, right now he's an excellent pass rusher, but need to work on stopping the run.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Austin Spitler<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - This guy has a nose for the ball, he hasn't made many plays, but he seems to always be near the end of the play. I don't see him being the next A.J. Hawk or even Bobby Carpenter, but he could be that LB that you see in a few years that's underrated because he just gets the job done...nothing flashy, just gets it done.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Zoltan Mesko<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> - Mesko is going to be one hell of a punter, but some Michigan fans were hoping for a little more. They thought he might be able to take over on kickoffs and handle long FGs. Well, as of now, it doesn't look like that'll be the case. Mesko has a HUGE leg, but lacks hangtime and height on his kicks. If he can get the ball up in the air, then you might see him doing those things, but right now...he's just a punter, and that's okay by me. However, he is 18/19...so there's no need to give up hope.

<!--EZCODE BOLD START-->Javon Ringer -<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> Javon has the moves, heart and everything else to be a great back. The only knock on him is sometimes he tried to do too much, now this could be because it's an all-star game...but either way, sometimes you'd like to see him just go down rather than reverse field.

This has been a bunch of BS the last few minutes, refs trying to hand the game to Penn in my opinion. First the personal on Wilson which they never showed, but when an O-lineman and D-lineman are locked up the O-lineman is usually the one who takes it too far, the D-lineman is doing his best to get away... and now they're trying to take away the pick. Whatever, Ohio should win this game no matter how hard the officials try.

Mesko is not gonna be a 40 yard avg punt this year. If he doesn't improve greatly before the season Michigan is in trouble on ST.

Javon Ringer has been a real disappointment. He had oppertunities in the open field and got ran down.

Simpson is a fullback plain and simple. Comparing him to Askew is a little bit much.
