5 keys to successful OSU season
Thursday, August 23, 2007
By Todd Porter
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

COLUMBUS Camp is over, and the season is around the corner. Tonight at Ohio Stadium, under lights and the curious eyes of about 30,000 fans, the 2007 Buckeyes will be unveiled. OK, it?s just a practice, but it will be the first good look at Ohio State?s football team since the Buckeyes walked off the field licking their wounds from a 41-14 national title loss to Florida.

List of Ohio State kick-return candidates growing

Thursday, August 23, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Columbus- A No. 7 was returning kicks for Ohio State on Wednesday. Maybe the Buckeyes were attempting to conjure up the ghost of Ted Ginn Jr.
At the moment, the OSU return game remains in flux with Ginn in the NFL, and his heir apparent, Ray Small, sidelined with a sprained ankle.
During Wednesday's special-teams kick scrimmage, cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (wearing Ginn's old No. 7 in a temporary jersey switch for the day), safeties Anderson Russell and Jamario O'Neal and freshmen James Scott and Daniel Herron all stood back on kickoff returns. Jenkins and receiver Brian Hartline took care of the punt returns. Freshman running back Brandon Saine also took part in a reverse on one kick, while O'Neal broke one kick return for 50 yards.

Buckeyes finding real men do yoga
Football players enjoy benefits of stretching

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The diminutive Katy Tombaugh will never be confused for Jim Tressel. But as she issued orders to Ohio State football players the other day, they reacted immediately to each command.
The BalletMet instructor was leading them through a series of exercises that were part yoga, part Pilates, but wholly focused on three goals: flexibility, breathing and relaxation. Across the floor of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center's new basketball court, they resembled football players in size only.

Anyone want to give me a headsup on what's happenin camp so far?

I'm a Buckeye fan living in California so my access is pretty limited. I can read about kicker and QB starters being named but I'd be interested to hear what people who get to see the team think about it so far.

OSU ready for the night shift; QB needs work

By Doug Harris
Staff Writer

Friday, August 24, 2007
COLUMBUS ? Ohio State treated its fans to an open practice under portable lights at Ohio Stadium on Thursday night, but coach Jim Tressel admitted his motive for staging the event wasn't entirely altruistic.
"It's a little bit of a monotony-breaker (from preseason camp)," he said. "And two, we're going to play some evening games, and it raises the awareness of that."
