2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

I don't think any game on our schedule is a guaranteed loss. We are a very young, inexperienced team, but I think that we have the talent to play with and beat anybody on our schedule.

Ohio State is not as good as you think they are. In fact, they have many weaknesses, especially a glaring one in the offensive line, as evidenced against Navy, and USC is about to wipe the floor with them come Saturday.

I love the renewed confidence. Oh by the way, you guys would have given up at least 300 yeards on the ground to Navy had you played them. Good luck the rest of the way.

I like how you italicize Navy like they're a terrible team. It wasn't glaring against Navy, either. It showed improvement. There were missed assignments, but those can be fixed.

Maybe your team's defense can beat up on our offensive line like you did in your 7-42 win last year in the 'Shoe. Maybe this year you can win 14-35 or something.

And it's funny that you ignorant fans get that cocky attitude back after you beat up on a directional team. I liked it better when you guys were just stupid. Stupid and arrogant is something that gets you banned.

Wow. It's unreal how delusional you have become simply because of one win over a MAC school that played a horrible game.

This coming from a guy who thinks his team has the talent to play with and beat any team on its schedule.

Ah, yes. The typical response from a fan of a team that hasn't beaten OSU in five years--talk smack about a different team beating us because UM can't get the job done.

If you believe NW is not making a bowl game you need to watch their team...they are gonna make a bowl game. They do not play us this year and thats a bonus for them. They can beat Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue hands down.

Watch some games. I keep hearing people talk that haven't watched any games...quit looking at the box scores and then commenting. NW has seriously improved.

+1. Fitz and the gang should be good for 7-8 wins this season.

I guess the question I have, for those of you who saw them play, who does TSUN play this week?

I can't believe that Notre Dame is really all that good. What do you guys think about the matchup (besides the asteroid strike wish)?

He enjoys the view from behind USC's skirt and he is more anti OSU than pro UM. There is no denying that if he revels in watching other teams do what your team can't.

I guess having your ass handed to you year after year will do that to a person. As *your* team continues to spiral there is less to celebrate so all you have left is hoping others can succeed where you can't.

That must really suck.

I bet he roots against Toledo too.

Michigan as badly as they were last year should of beat ND. As you can tell both teams look drastically improved the game could go either way IMO. My Prediction is UM by 3.

DROB SPEED!

:shake:

They looked better. Against a bad MAC team. I'm not ready to say they're drastically improved until they play a team that actually fields a defense.

This week will be a good test for the secondary. I really don't know whether it's a good test for UM's offense, because ND could be stout or a paper tiger. Sure they beat up on Nevada, but a great team should be able to manhandle a roster like that more often than not.

Forcier showed both ends of the spectrum last week... why people in AA are so excited, but also why they are really worried about him getting hurt. He really does leave himself exposed to a lot of big shots, and there's a reason he wears such long wristbands. If he continues to freelance the way he does (which he probably will since it is one of his better assets), he's going to take some wicked shots against physical defenses like ND, PSU, MSU & OSU.

Well, this sorta settles the issue for me..

The conversion of the Michigan fan base, at least the stereotype of those who post on message boards, to MAC level is complete.

No one can catch shoestring....
We all better respect you....
You can match up with anyone...
You beat some team, bla, bla, bla.....
The Buckeyes "struggled with X".....

Keep shaking those keys....

If you can't tell a difference from last year to this year then i dont know what you seeing. I'm not calling Michigan a top 25 team yet but they are much much more improved.

Well, they did appear competent, anyway.... that is indeed a big improvement over last year.

I remember when Michigan would beat some directional school and Michigan fans didn't have a whole lot of earth shattering remarks to make about it. But, this hubbub over the WMU game... It sort of reminds me of when Illinois fans saw losing a close one to Indiana as evidence that they'd turned the corner.....

His quick feet should prevent him from taking to many direct shots, but even in the spring game, with no tackling mind you, he was blindsided in the end zone by a d-end while scrambling, and hit the turf. His greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. He HAS to avoid the direct hit.
