Highland Park pair ready for '11
BY JOSH HELMHOLDT

...
Jermal Hosley and Raymon Taylor both play wide receiver and cornerback for the Polar Bears. Hosley is a lightning-fast athlete who was the only sophomore in the Class A 100-meter state final in track and field in the spring.

...
The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Hosley caught 36 passes for close to 800 yards and six touchdowns and also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and one punt for a score this season. He's already getting attention from the likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Cincinnati.

"I can play in the slot or wide, it doesn't really matter," Hosley said. "I just want to be in the game. I love catching the ball and making plays after the catch. I could be a return man as well."

...
both said they grew up fans of the Wolverines and are considering them heavily at the start of their recruitments.

...
WR Marcus Vaughn (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson)
Breakdown: Vaughn is the most underrated receiver in the area, if not the state. He is similar to Bennett because he is a run-and catch receiver. After the catch, Vaughn takes the form of a running back by patiently setting up blockers and working around would-be tacklers. He also has the ability to make defenders miss in space. In the playoffs, he made a number of high point receptions showing instinctive timing.
Recruitment: Houston has made an offer, with Oklahoma State expected to follow in the near future. Texas and TCU are also showing interest.

Walls likes USC, CU

DB Avery Walls (5-11 185) of McDonough, GA has offers from Oklahoma, East Carolina, Stanford, Uconn but is also hearing USC, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Northwestern. Walls has been to Clemson already taking in the Clemson/Boston College game last season. "I only got to see the weight room and part of the stadium," said Walls, "but I really like their facilities. I met with some of the coaches and they were nice. Got to spend some time with the head coach in his office." Walls also visited Georgia twice last year for both the Kentucky and Auburn games and was in Florida for the FSU/Florida battle. Walls plans to be in Tuscaloosa on January 30 for Alabama's junior day. He says he has no favorites. As a junior, Walls had 104 tackles, 13 pass breakups, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries, one which he returned for a touchdown.

Suitors for T.C.'s Joyer increasing
Posted on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at 12:25 a.m.

Apparently Tampa Catholic FB/LB Hunter Joyer's impressive performance at last month's U.S. Army All-American Combine is leading to some interest from college programs near and far.

According to Joyer's father, Jack, Ohio State, Purdue, Florida State, Cincinnati, USF, Louisville, Central Michigan and N.C. State have all stopped by to visit the 6-foot, 240-pound Joyer in the past week.
North Carolina and Georgia Tech have also shown interest, Jack Joyer said.

Joyer, one of the bay area's strongest prospects, should be one of the area's top recruits next season.
