OFFERS: Illinois, Kansas, S. Carolina... INTEREST: Ohio State, Nebraska, Virginia, Iowa, _ichigan... Started playing football as a freshman so he's still learning the game... Took as many reps as they'd let him as he realizes his development is little behind... Plans to camp as much as possible & listen to any school that shows interest... No leader, no time table...

That was some impressive tape. No offers makes me wonder about grades and the ferocity in that video makes me wonder about a history of violence. :yow1:

He seemed to enjoy throwing offensive tackles to the ground more than getting to the ball.

Size is the issue with him as a player. He's definitely going to have to hook on as an OLB/ DE hybrid somewhere. His first step is electric and is obviously proficient at hand-fighting. Again, though, the problem is size as his short arms prevent him from disengaging away from the body.

Definitely a kid to watch.

Grades and previous violence are absolutely not a problem with this kid!
He's a great student and athlete ~ received many top honors his junior year, as well...

Defensive Lineman of the Year - Edison Chargers Team

Defensive Lineman of the Year - Sunset League
All-League: 1st Team Defense - Sunset League

All-County: 1st Team Defense - Orange County

All-CIF: 1st Team Defense - Southern Section, Pac-5 Division
All-Southern Section: 1st Team Defense (SectionSports.com)
Junior All-American Team: 2nd Team Defense (MaxPreps.com)
California Division 1 All-State Team (MaxPreps.com)
iBN Sports All-Team Defense (iBNSports.com)

GPA last semester 3.60, overall 3.28
SAT 1650 first run
Varsity wrestler as a Freshman & Sophomore, so highly aggressive and yes, he enjoys moving those OT's out of his way - that is where that came from. :wink2:

Short arms? I wonder if that is how it is coming across on the films? He has freakishly long arms and HUGE hands for his height, just waiting for that growth spurt to catch up the rest of his body with the arms.

Wingspan 76.5"

Burks is a HUGE Ohio State fan but has not received any communication yet. He attended wrestling camp last summer at Ohio State and absolutely loved it. If you check the write ups on Rivals.com and Scout.com, they even mention that Ohio State is who he wants to hear from.

He received his first offer from Stanford this weekend.

SoCal DE lands first offer=

Thanks!

Scout.com was on-hand at the Badger Sports Elite 7-on-7 powered by New Level Athletics this weekend at Rutgers University and got the chance to sit down with Miles Shuler who is packing nine offers and hearing from other schools like Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State.

Long Branch High School athlete Miles Shuler is holding offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, Michigan, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Stanford and West Virginia right now and the 5-foot-10, 165-pound burner is also interested in going out to see Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State who are recruiting him.

'11 NJ CB Harold Clark

Nittany Insider: Maiden Voyage -

Moyer: CB Clark going camping

Harold Clark, a junior out of Teaneck (N.J.), continues to get recruiting letters from Penn State. And he plans on once again heading to its summer camp - in addition to ones at Rutgers and Ohio State.

He's recently grabbed some attention from the Buckeyes, but he has yet to pull in that first scholarship offer. Teaneck just instituted a new training program last offseason, and numerous college coaches (such as Penn State, Pitt and Boston College) have been by as a result.

With another offseason like that, Clark is hoping to impress some coaches over the summer. Penn State appears to be one of his top schools, and he impressed assistant coach Dick Anderson at last year's camp - enough to receive a hand-written letter lauding him for his performance and inviting him to a game at Happy Valley.

Scout $ - Planning visit, Shuler high on NU
David Vranicar of PurpleWildcats.com, Mar 7, 2010

Shuler has high interest in Northwestern because they've had high interest in him for so long... He plans to use OVs to see OSU, Pitt, & Northwestern... He also likes the staff at NU & how stable they are with little turnover... All schools are recruiting him for offense & that's his preference... No leader, no time table...

Rivals $ - Video: Turner patrols the secondary

I like this kid a lot... Excellent ball skills with the ability to high point it to get the pick or breakup... He's a very good open field tackler, not a big time physical presence but gets the guy to the ground... You don't see much in these clips of him in man coverage, mostly zone & safety, but seeing him track a guy in the open field shows his ability mirror & change direction...
