2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs

3074326

Assistant to the Head Coach
The playoffs start Wednesday.. here's the schedule for the first round: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=558669

I'm going to go with a Vancouver vs. Boston final. I think both teams are the most balanced in the league. I originally picked Philly in the East, but I like Boston's overall game more.

Vancouver's offense is pretty ridiculous, and their defense is just as good. Should be a fantastic matchup if it happens.

I think all of the favorites will win the first round of games, except I think Nashville will beat Anaheim. I usually don't like picking the favorites in the playoffs, but I really think the top seeds are considerably better this year. Round 2 will be very interesting..

Just like past years i see the Nuks losing early, if not to Chi-town then in the second round. Remind me of the Colts every year in football, have a great season the BLAH.

I like philly or TB in the EAST. Darkhorse would be MTL

West i like San Jose or the Wings (ya 100% homer) Darkhorse Trashville *puuuuuke*

That was my concern with the Canucks too. Wouldn't be surprised to see them out early.

If TB had a better defense, I'd like them a lot more. I think the Pens are a terrible matchup for them though. I think we have the strongest D in the East. If we can keep it 5v5 I like our chances. If we're in the box a lot, TB will win. Should be an awesome series.

Check out this awful picture from the NHL Network.

Knew it had to happen. I still have nightmares about the past two seasons. Canucks were easily the best team in the regular season. Sedin twins will carry this team offensivly, and we are finally getting healty defensively. As long as luongo is solid in net (which he has yet to prove he can be against chicago) I think the canucks will bring the cup back to Canada.

Canucks over Capitals

Pens won 3-0 the way they have to win without Malkin and Crosby - defense, goaltending and forechecking. It worked tonight, but making it work 15 more times in the playoffs is going to be a tall order. We'll see...

I think they'll get past the Lightning. This is a terrible matchup for TB. But next round.. ugh. I don't expect them to win two rounds.

if LA turns up the phyiscal play I'd bet Vulva Joe and the Guppies will show back up sooner or later.
