2013-2014 B1G Men's Basketball

But I don't disagree that this team has been a disappointment. Preseason top-15, you are expected to finish right at the top of the B1G and not 5 games back of the winners.
You are disappointed fairly easily. I guess we are supposed to win the Big Ten every year. The hell with preseason rankings you know how much they mean. Nebraska was picked to finish last in the Big Ten and who thought Purdue would finish where they did. You might want to review your preseason projections.

It is hard to believe a Big Ten team without Aaron Craft but unfortunately it is highly possible but this justice one man's opinion.
My All-Big Ten ballot: For first time since 2005, expect Ohio State to be shut out of first team

Nik Stauskas, Michigan
Gary Harris, Michigan State
Terran Petteway, Nebraska
Caris LeVert, Michigan
Yogi Ferrell, Indiana
I might replace LeVert or possibly even Yogi baby with Craft but I am a little bit bias.

The COY of the year boils down to Miles or John B. This is a really tough one but I have to agree with the writer and go with John B.

There are going to be a ton of guys getting votes--Stauskas and Petteway will be shoe-ins, but after that it's anybody's guess. I wouldn't vote for Lavert even though he's improved a lot, but I could see people voting for him as the second best player on the team that finished first in the conference. Besides those listed above, I could see these guys getting some votes:

Craft
Ross
Newbill
Payne
Marble
Kaminsky

I don't mind the extra game, it gives OSU a chance for an extra win, or a longer time off to regroup for the NCAA tourney. Purdue this year could well be the best #11 or #12 seed in Big Ten history.
Matta might well like the extra day off, but as a fan I would much prefer to be the 5 seed than the 4 seed. We get to watch Craft play an extra game and then play the same team we would have played anyway (barring an upset).

I agree that for this team, the #5 may be better than the #4 considering the circumstances. I don't really have the expectation that this OSU team will win the BTT this season, so having the opportunity to get an extra win and maybe build some confidence for the guys from the bench is good. Plus they can get a few games in to get on top of their game with an "extra" day off compared to past seasons if they make it to the Semi's and not the title game.

Is Tom Crean even on the hot seat? I don't think he is.

This is just in reaction to the New York newspaper (can't recall if it was the Post or Daily News) that said Mike Woodson would be a candidate for Crean's job.

IU has recruits coming in, that's why I just think it's NY rags trying to sell news.
