2013-2014 B1G Men's Basketball

Gosh, I love this new "like" system. No more annoying pop-ups forcing us to give greenies to ScriptOhio for his stupid jokes, instead of who we really like.

(Just giving vent to my inner Incognito here. Script, expect some Tweets giving you [Mark May] about your sexual preferences.)

If you think the best four teams each year make the final four, then there's not much left for us to discuss.
If you like the changes, good for you. I don't. Agree to disagree and all that and so on and so forth, etcetera.

The new rules interpretations (they aren't new rules, just that officials are being asked to enforce them) should benefit OSU in the long run. The teams with the best players should benefit as allowing more holding, grabbing and bumping serves as an equalizer for less talented teams. I am all for seeing great defense and I think great defense will still be rewarded.

Well, I definitely agree that the best four teams aren't necessarily in the Final Four, but at the same time you don't see average teams winning the title, and you also don't see Big Ten teams winning it.

Uconn 2011 was .500 in conference play. Doesn't get much more average than .500

UConn was definitely one of the best five or six teams in the country by tournament time, and in college basketball that's the only time when it really matters what the best teams in the country are. Nobody really cares if you are ranked #1 in January or even February. At any rate, UConn was a #3 seed in the NCAA tournament (i.e., had one of the top-12 resumes in the country over the course of the season per the NCAA selection committee) and finished #9 in the country in KenPom. UConn was most definitely a top-10 team in 2011, but go ahead and think they were average that year if you like.

And that's kind of the beauty of college basketball, you can face adversity, lose some games, grow and improve throughout the year and be rewarded at the end of the year because more than 2 teams have a chance to play for the championship.

Posted this in the NCAA thread, but I'll be posting SportsBook events for any Top 25 Matchup including a B1G team.
