2018 Week 11 CFB Open Thread

Gus Malzahn is 39-24 since choking away a national championship his first season. He has a freebie against Liberty (:roll2:) next week then travels to bammer to get waxed in the iron bowl. He's looking at a 7-5 regular season after a top 10 preseason ranking and 5, 6, 5, 4 and 5 losses over the last five years. Each of those seasons has seen Auburn climb into the top ten early then fall apart.

We (myself included) complain about how mediocre we are this season, but our "bad" year will likely be at least 10 wins. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and gain a little perspective.

The Auburn hype every year really disturbs me. I suppose it’s an SEC thing, seems common with Auburn, Aggy, MSST and used to be Tennessee over a few years. If Bama destroys them I can see Malzahn being canned. Not sure who replaces him though.

Unless he somehow gets a miraculous win over bammer, he gone. Frankly, given their out-sized expectations, I’m surprised he’s lasted this long.
