2018 Week 7 CFB Open Thread

CBS gets first dibs on SEC games starting week 3 or 4.

all CBS games are in the 3:30 ET time slot.
except one weekend per year when they get a double header and add a prime time slot as well. which has been the LSU/Bama game for the last few years.

Yeah - it's looking like that might be the case again this year.
UGA vs. Kentucky probably plays at 3:30 and LSU vs Bama at 7:30

Hearing Herbstreit harping on the TCU tempo... can't help but remember how he did so during the OSU-TCU game, even though it was clear that OSU's tempo was at least equal to theirs.

Fast forward to this week...

Only 1 team (Hawaii) has run more offensive plays than Ohio State, and they've played one more game and run < 10 more plays.

Meanwhile, TCU is averaging 10 plays per game less than Ohio State.

Sure, it helps that Ohio State has to leave the field because they've scored more often than because they've failed to gain a first down. The point is that OSU wouldn't lead the NCAA in plays/game if they weren't running tempo as well as anyone.

But Herby has to harp on his go-to characterizations, whether or not they're accurate.

I was a fan of his when he was Ohio State's qb, but his best attribute these days is reminding me to mute the tv (or the iPad in this case).
