2019 Week 11 CFB Open Thread

Would Franklin leave the Nittany Lions to head to Los Angeles? This is all speculation at this point, of course, as Helton is still in place.

I frankly don't see it happening, (see what I did there?) But one thing I find interesting is this: Apparently, JimmyFranks buyout if he is fired is some astronomical figure, but if HE decides to leave it's only 1 mil. Kinda curious why he negotiated that low of an amount if he decides to bolt. Even more surprised PSU agreed to it.

LSU winning is the best outcome, i'd say

Theres no way they can blatantly ignore Bamas terrible SOS, being a 1 loss non conference champion

If UGA beats Auburn this week, its likely Bamas best win will come against a Auburn team that would finish 8-4 (with their 2nd best being against fucking Texas A&M)

LSU would have a much better case as a 1 loss non champ than Bama. Save maybe the "THEY DIDNT HAVE TUA!!!" cries. (or "HE WASNT 100%!!!" in the case he ends up playing)

wanna bet?

that narrative has already had its seeds panted, watered, and starting to grow.

i’ve already heard multiple different outlets already giving Bama the benefit of doubt because if the Tua situation.

they don’t have to win this game. that’s already been decided.

i do think LSU would have the better argument if we lost a competitive game, but literally no media outlet has started that conversation yet that i know of.
In fact, at lunch today, y’all favorite 4 letter station was already arguing for UGA and Bama if LSU beats Bama but loses to UGA in the SECCG.

Good points

That argument is completely ridiculous. The same network that wants to talk "EYE TEST" when it favors teams like Bama completely ignoring how not good UGA has looked of late.

Hopefully UGA loses to Auburn and that argument never seriously sees the light of day

UGA is ass-water, my dude. I don’t see a way in hell LSU would lose to them this year.

Ask again on Monday.
Kinda goes hand-in-hand with "how big of an impact is Tua's injury?"
The answer depends on who needs a personnel excuse to stay ranked ahead of Oregon, Utah, and possibly Oklahoma.

no, i’ll say it now.

Divinity was deservedly a starter.
He is a better player than his backup (Damone Clark).

but:

A. the drop off is not astronomical. Clark has played very well this season in place of Divinity in multiple games. He has enough experience and played well enough that i have confidence in him going forward.

B. it’s also at a position that typically shouldn’t be a complete game changer like a QB would be. He’s not even the most important player at LB for us.

so if we lose Saturday, it won’t be because of Divinity.

our weakness this year is lack of depth in the secondary, not linebacker.
