Smart to take a step back and let more come out and the process plays out. I just have a real hard time believing such allegations have been made without some pretty hard evidence supporting them for the B1G office to notify Sparty and the public to be aware. But, like you I'm trying to temper my hopes a little.
Don’t forget about…”vast network.”

You know, outside of the gleeful CFB playoff blowouts, schadenfreude has been in pretty short supply with these pricks the last couple of seasons. Finding out that is all very likely because of widespread, rampant cheating...the simple fact that they had to CHEAT to not be bowl of tepid dog water... gives me a special feeling in the cockles of my heart. Maybe below the cockles. Maybe in the sub-cockle area. Maybe in the liver, maybe in the kidneys, maybe even in the colon...

I'm just a regular joe, with a regular job....I'm your average white, suburbanite slob....

I'm playing that on repeat now

Curious indeed.
Speculation, but part of what makes the conduct alleged improper is that electronic equipment is used, and the many by which it is used. I think it's gotta be more than recording signals on a cell phone camera. You've got to process a lot of information. You have to do it fairly quickly... I wonder if this guy had earbuds in and spotters communicating who was hot as far as signal calling.

I'm not entirely sure what freqs or protocol the headsets use, but they aren't bluetooth due to the ranges involved. Chances are, they are also using the default codes in them (for pairing) which would make them insanely easy to crack (not that cracking them are hard). It would not be difficult at all to join a cell phone or ear piece that's easily concealable to the grouping and listen in the whole time.

This is a potentially HUGE can of worms. If you can figure out what the signals mean, and in what order, AND you can listen in as they call them, you got it cold.

Putting my CEH and CHFI certs to good use here...(BTW CHFI sucks and I'll never take it again willingly  )

There are many commercially and not commercially available hacking programs you could put on your phone to do this stuff. Its not hard. And being a veteran, I've done a lot of the same trainings this Marine has done (although I'd be interested in knowing what his speciality was, be it Intel or IT) and these things become known if you're in the right circles and take the trainings they offer.

Like I said, it's not all that hard. Even WPA2 isn't secure enough for me anymore - everything on my wifi network at home is either hardwired or WPA3.

NCAA typically states that X is being investigated for Y. In this particular case, they are using incredibly damning terms and literally warning their next opponent about what they are doing. This is unicorn shit as far as the NCAA is concerned.

It'll be interesting how well they play against Sparty this week and going forward. If there's a sharp decline in level of play.....
I mean sparty is helpless as it is. The more interesting thing will be if the opponent level masks the magnitude of the impact of being found out for a while.

And remember that OC Matt Weiss was fired for illegally accessing peoples computers. Is this somehow related?
My crackpot internet sleuth take on how that wraps in...to keep Simple Jim and the staff superficially insulated, there was some account sharing going on wherein staffers would access, say Maverick Stalion's (or whatever the fuck his name is), account to receive info. This pinged some university security protocols, and Mr. Weiss was jettisoned as a result. Obviously, if this was part of their "vast network," Mr. Weiss couldn't disclose why he was accessing, or attempting to access, other people's accounts.

Regardless, I have a hard time believing the Offensive Coordinator wasn't somehow heavily involved in all of this and it's just too perfect a coincidence to not be tied to what's coming out now.
