I know every fan is loyal to their team above all but I feel like Ohio State people were at least honest about their recent scandals. Like tattoo gate was stupid but people were like well Tressel got caught. It is what it is. And pretty much everyone thought Urban reaped what he sowed with Zach Smith. Michigan and their fans are just flat out lying.
One thing we teach students in our leadership classes... If you make a mistake, own up to it, collaborate/cooperate on any restorative or corrective actions, and work like hell to rebuild trust.
While I know there is a segment of our fanbase that hates that we self report everything, it's built trust to the point that the NCAA gives the benefit of the doubt when things come up.
Michigan can't do the SEC option (deny and slow play) it seems, given the amount of information available. Rather, they're leaning into arrogance and defiance... pretty consistent with their head coach and the Walmart Wolverine elements of their fanbase.

Here’s the B1G’s statement:

Rosemont, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference’s commitment to student-athletes, sportsmanship and the Commissioner’s duty to protect the integrity of competition will never waver. Today’s decision by the University of Michigan to withdraw its legal challenge against the Conference’s November 10th Notice of Disciplinary Action is indicative of the high standards and values that the Conference and the University seek to uphold. The University of Michigan is a valued member of the Big Ten Conference and the Conference will continue to work cooperatively with the University and the NCAA during this process.

Notice the language: “Today’s decision by the University of *ichigan to withdraw its legal challenge”

This wasn’t something worked out by the parties, the University dropped the case. Because they finally realized it would be bad for them.

And that may be due to something we've pretty much overlooked: 1,000 wins. If they beat Maryland this weekend they will have set this milestone on the road. Harbaugh's pity party interview on Monday centered on what an accomplishment this would be. This means Harbaugh, the team, the fans and the school have put a great deal of importance to this figure. And who wants to celebrate that achievement at a road game?

I would expect the last home game - especially since it's The Game - and going for win number a thousand and one - would mean that ceremonies are already in the planning. Part of that would surely include T-shorts proudly declaring, "Michigan, A Thousand and One!"

Wouldn't it be great to see some scruffy little kids in some dusty Asian village wearing said T-shirts?

The back of the shirts should say “soon to be less than 970 once the NCAA hammers us”

Discovery would be a big freaking deal, as would having Harbie on the stand.

Also- as limited and toothless as the NCAA's investigation element is, it's really robust compared to the B1G. That's why the B1G didn't act until the NCAA provided information.
So, the Conference wasn't all that involved in investigation, and the "work cooperatively" element is what Michigan fans should be concerned about.

Why would the B1G agree to close the investigation?
The B1G investigation never mattered anyway, the NCAA investigation is the only one with teeth and it's not affected by this

AND

I think it's entirely possible that the B1G investigation was already closed. I think it's entirely possible that when the CUNTS were shown the new evidence this week, it went like this.

CUNTS: So... do you mind if we say that we'll drop the litigation if you drop the investigation?

B1G: But we dropped the investigation when we handed The Doofus his suspension

CUNTS: Right, right... But if you could just not say anything. You know... just don't contradict us

B1G: Why would we do this?

CUNTS: I dunno. ... You can be the bigger man...

B1G: Bigger ... than you?

*call ends there... the B1G is still laughing*
