2024 MICHIGAN WOLVERINES WILL LOOK VERY DIFFERENT THAN TEAM THAT JUST WON NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Even if Ryan Day and Ohio State are now clear favorites to beat Michigan this year – the betting line for The Game, which opened at 3.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook two weeks ago, has since climbed to 6.5 – the Buckeyes still have to make it happen. The departures of Harbaugh and many of Michigan’s biggest stars from its championship run only increase the pressure on Day to turn the tables in the rivalry; a loss to the Wolverines this year would be the toughest one yet to excuse.

But while Michigan finished the 2023 season on top of the college football world, Ohio State has been the team building momentum to start the 2024 offseason. While the Buckeyes are building what they believe should be a championship roster for the season ahead, the Wolverines will start their title defense season with far less returning experience than they had a year ago.

What’s funny now that I think about it…

TCUN went through hell sticking up for simple Jim and what did they end up with?

Guy left them waiting and sort of trashed them on the way out by putting out a statement indicating he would’ve stayed.
Anything that Bacon puts out can pretty much be assumed to come directly from Simple Jim. And now he's telling the cult that he really wanted to stay but the jock-sniffer screwed it all up. So much for showing any gratitude for Ono blindly defending him. Not only does Ono not get to be the hero to the cult for getting Harbaugh to stay, but he's also been made a complete laughingstock in higher education.

Your morning DFBIA comedy

Harbaugh soldier

January 26th, 2024 at 11:40 AM ^

Interesting that warde did not mention moore in yesterday’s players meeting. Moore reportedly is aiming for big changes in recruiting and NIL. This scares tf out of warde and this is something to monitor.
warde will definitely fleece moore on the contract and lowball him just like he did harbaugh and the regents love the dollar savings.

have they even listed the job for the 7 day window? Have not seen it yet. Warde is a strange dude

Can you really "low ball" a coach with absolutely zero real head coaching experience who's pretty much getting the job because he's the only non roster exodus disaster option on the table (well that and any other good coaches have already been gobbled up in this cycle)?

Stop making sense, you’re going to ruin their weekend.

Oh, I'm not going anywhere. I'll always love tOSU and follow through thick and thin, but my love for the sport as a whole is largely gone and it has nothing to do with the results of any games. It just doesn't resemble the sport I loved anymore. I just have zero interest in watching the sport at large. Hell, truth be told, I only watched probably 2/3 of the Buckeye games over the past 2 years. Nothing to do with how they're performing, I just no longer plan my Saturdays around a football game(s).
I haven't and won't miss an OSU game, but otherwise I'm in the same boat.

I still watch the OSU games, but I no longer watch other games, unless it's on wherever I am. From the 90s until the 2010s, I would spend all day Saturday and nights on Thursdays watching college football. Hell, I would even watch MAC games on Wednesdays.

Haven't they constantly claimed that the University handicaps their ability to use NIL like everyone else?

They just gonna say "ok we change our minds" because Sherrone said so after supposedly not letting the god himself Harbaugh use it?

11W gives an update on scUM's NIL program:

A CALL TO ARMS. While Ohio State football’s NIL collective, The 1870 Society, has helped the Buckeyes attack and dominate the offseason, Michigan football’s NIL collective, Champions Circle, has been dormant.

It seems the Wolverines’ national championship — one that sparked a fierce name, image and likeness push for Ohio State and The 1870 Society — made Michigan and Champions Circle apathetic toward their NIL efforts.

At least, that was the case until Jim Harbaugh left Ann Arbor for Los Angeles.

Once Harbaugh announced he would become the Los Angeles Chargers’ next head coach, Champions Circle launched its Those Who Stay NIL Campaign, which asked for contributions to the collective. Included in the Champions Circle’s message to Michigan fans is the idea that the Buckeyes have “redoubled their efforts” to build a Big Ten and national championship roster.

From Champions Circle’s website:
Coach Harbaugh is headed to the NFL. An 86-25 record. Three straight victories over Ohio State. Three straight B1G Championships. An unforgettable Rose Bowl. An undisputed National Championship. What a run.
Tonight, an era ended. However, another is just beginning. Michigan needs you more than ever. Will you join us?
Ohio State has signed multiple five star players in the last two weeks – the best running back in the SEC and Alabama's best defensive back, to name a few. Yes, we won a title – but our rivals have redoubled their efforts.
The effort of Champions Circle™ – the premier University of Michigan NIL collective – is critical to the future of the program. Amidst all of the change and uncertainty, we must hold the line and ensure The Team has what they need next season and beyond. It's time for Michigan Family to show our players how much we appreciate them and want them back in Maize and Blue!
To keep the momentum going, please contribute now.
We need your help to keep our team.
Last year, Champions Circle® launched the One More Year Fund to support key Michigan players like Blake Corum, Trevor Keegan, and Zak Zinter who elected to return to Michigan for One More Year.
This is why we’ve launched the Those Who Stay NIL Campaign.
Our rivals are coming after many of our key players, trying to induce them to leave Michigan.
It's time for Michigan Family to show our players how much we appreciate them and want them back in Maize and Blue!
To keep the momentum going, please contribute now.
Interestingly, the message on Champions Circle’s website differs from an email the collective sent to previous contributors. The main differences? The email included a more detailed description of the Buckeyes’ NIL achievements and mentioned that “Ohio State is on the rise.”
