#6 Tennessee +4.5 vs #2 tOSU (ov/un 134.5 ) Fri 7:07 ET, CBS

You are so biased. Watch it again. He had all ball on that block. ET knew that because he tried to adjust to it, but couldn't.

It's a tough loss and a physical one. We got beat up badly with offensive rebounds and that won it for them. They exposed Ohio State's major weakness inside the paint. Hopefully, ET will want to play one more year to make another run.

It felt like the majority of TNs points in the second half were all layups. They lived in the paint and out toughed our guys down low. This is a tough one to lose because I just don't think TN is a better basketball team. But they were allowed to play very physical tonight and that definitely helped their cause.

It's been a fun year though. Hats off to the Bucks for putting on a great show for Buckeye nation this year. I will miss Evan Turner next year. No way he comes back. Like Oden, he's probably thinking, "Dang, if I'm gonna get beat up like that every game, I might as well get paid for it!"

Good luck to Madsen, Hill and Simmons wherever life may take them! We're proud of you guys!

Tennessee had more assists, more offensive rebounds, more total rebounds and more fouls called on them.

Stop whining about the refs. Tennessee beat us tonight. :(

Um I'm sorry but the refs were awful Williams could of fouled out on a 5 play sequence in the second half let alone the rest of the game that's a disgrace. Maybe we win maybe we don't without him but there was no excuse why he should be out there on the court at the end.

Exactly.

Blaming the refs is an easy excuse but we got beat on the glass and in the paint.
+1

If there is one thing you can question about Matta's teams it is a consistent inside presence... the only exception to that was the 06-07 season. They did not attack the boards all night and UT constantly attacked them. Chizm played a great 2nd half and was able to exploit the huge hole in the Buckeye defense.

I believe a real key to UT's dominance down low was that the refs established early on they weren't going to tolerate any contact by OSU whatsover, and UT was bringing it hard enough to force contact every time. The refs dictated the style of game and it threw the Bucks off their game from the get-go: then they couldn't recuperate and hit ANY shots, so I'm surprised it was as close as it was.

And here we go.

And here I go...

...since I don't get the Duke/Purdue game here in my region, I've got to watch it on MMOD...

Meaning I don't get to clamor over these boards with y'all...

Kind of disappointing...but I'll be here for y'all to trash if Duke loses tonight...

...and I'll definitely be here to gloat a little if we're headed to the Elite 8 :wink2:

I'm not sure what he was thinking with the 1-3-1 zone, and even more confused why he stuck with it. You are getting killed on the boards and giving up layups, quick! put your big man out on the perimeter!

But i'm not going to get all worked up. If the players outside of Turner didn't care, i shouldn't.

The reffing was bad, but they beat us because they completely dominated the boards on both ends. Even if the fouls weren't lame, I don't see us winning those battles. Just didn't have it today. And nobody other than Turner could hit a shot.

Stop blaming the refs.

Yes, we got beat on the glass but a multitude of times Madsen was pushed by the Tennessee guy right out of bounds......:(. When Tennesssee's Williams got to four fouls I counted at least twice that fouls should have been called against him and were not.
An off game by Diebs really cost us, and the constant fresh feet brought from the Tennessee bench really hurt us at the end.....we simply needed some guys to come in and spell Buford and the boys....

Nevertheless if you would have told me that we would have been Big Ten regular season and tourney champs and come within a possession of the Elite Eight I would have told you you were nuts at the beginning of the season. Congrats to Thad and the boys for an outstanding season!!! Here is hoping that ET comes back next year (although I fear he is gone), and we make a run at the national title.

I thought that game got away when we took those 2 quick shots just inside of 5:00 and missed both. That really hurt because they got easy buckets.

If you'd have told me the Bucks would be sweet 16 back in early Jan, I'd have been thrilled. I just hate losing to Tennecheat. I'd rather lose to Puke. I hate those guys.

The consolation prize is I still have an outside shot to win the BP bracket.

Can't wait until next year.

246 days until we beat M!ch!g@n!!! :oh:

Better team? I don't think I would say that. We just got exposed on the inside with not one person besides Simmons consistently hitting from the outside. Chism could evidently not commit a foul (over the back was not called once, either way), which is why the paint disparity was so large. Had D-laud* and Lightly actually been able to do something on D, I think this is completely different.

*I really didn't see Dallas trying, IMO. That really hurt us, as Madsen was no match for Chism, or even Prince. Lighty just couldn't risk being as suffocating with how things were being called. Tennessee didn't really care that they (the refs) were so inconsistent, and so continued to be stupidly physical and not get called for it. Our guys just don't do extremely physical like Tennessee forced the issue.

did you see what happened when we went to man to man? Tennessee was scoring at will

the 1-3-1 was at least generating some stops
