Andrew Luck (Official Thread)

Good for him. I wonder if this is an indication that Harbaugh is staying. Why would he want to play for a new coach in his senior year?

Now that Luck is coming back, I could easily see Harbaugh staying at Stanford for at least another year. There is no way Luck would want to stay and give up guaranteed millions and the #1 pick with a new coach coming in. Education may mean a lot to some players, but when you looking at that much money and being the #1 pick there is something greater keeping him from not going.

I think it is a good (though risky) move if Harbaugh is coming back. It is really risky if he is not. Who knows who the next coach will be. He cannot be drafted any higher than he will be this year. He certainly can be drafted lower.

A part of me thinks moving to Charlotte and playing for Jerry Richardson and the Panthers sounds as appealing as syphilis.

While Charlotte is a great city, the franchise won't spend money, the roster is a joke, and it is nowhere close to Texas or the West Coast.

If San Fran had the #1 pick I'm sure it'd be a different decision.

wow, i just checked out a couple of panther forums, and they all pretty much say the same thing: first they are crying about not getting him and starting with the "why us? why us?" sympathy bullshit. then most of them go onto say "fuck him and whatever he does. i hope he gets hurt and never plays." what a bunch of assholes. they are getting mad at a 21 year old kid that was never theirs to begin with for going back to school. grow up panther fans.

But don't they have Pickles? That should be enough, right?

I think it is great that he wants to return to Stanford, however, just sayin'.... Matt Leinart decided to come back to USC for his senior year and it cost him millions of dollars (i.e. first pick in 2005 NFL draft to the 10th pick in the 2006 NFL draft). In addition to the possibility of a bracketed salary structure in place for the 2011 NFL draftees.
