anyone ever have food poisoning?

I had really bad food poisoning about ten years ago from a Taco Bell in Mississippi while I was there for a school (all three of us that ate there got sick bad). We ate there for lunch on a Friday, and I got sick early Friday evening. Shit and puked every 20-30 minutes all weekend and could barely move...just wanted to die. There was about 10 times where I literally almost shit the bed and barely make it to the toilet in time. Did nothing but drink water right after puking and shitting (shitting is a relative term, since after the first time or two it was just water that went right through me). I wouldn't wish what I went through on anyone. Finally started to get better late Sunday afternoon, and was able to stagger through school on Monday.

Bottom line is keep as hydrated as you can. Whenever you puke or shit, be sure to drink water immediately afterwards.

Was this the location?

Enjoy this Taos because you'll probably never hear it from me again: I should have listened to you. Buffet lunch yesterday appears to have been the cause of involuntary (but all properly directed to a toilet bowl thank God) colon cleansing on numerous occasions last night. I thought I was going to prolapse for a while, although I'm pretty much fine now.

My mother-in-law makes a habit out of eating the crap at casino buffets.
Then, she has diarrhea for days! We have told her time and again,
"Don't eat the food at buffets!"
But, it's cheap with that free meal ticket the casino gives her. :shake:

Friends, don't eat from buffets if you can help it!

Were you thinking about changing your avatar to "Jew Shitsu"? :slappy:

Food Poisoning

Most cases will go away in a few days with rest and care at home. The following information will help you recover. Drink one CUP per "successful" visIt the bathroom. (THERE IS DIDN'T SAY STOOL - OOPS)

Make your own rehydration drink
You can make an inexpensive rehydration drink at home. However, do not give this homemade drink to children younger than 12.
Measure all ingredients precisely. Small variations can make the drink less effective or even harmful. Mix the following:
  • 1 quart (950 ml) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) table salt, or 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g) salt substitute (such as ?Lite Salt?)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons (45 g to 60 g) sugar

This has been one of the shittiest weeks ever (literally). I thought I had the flu, but after my temp spiked to 104 on Monday night I went to the emergency room. Turns out I have food poisoning. I had an IV, some morphine for the pain, a CT scan to make sure it wasn't my appendix, and other "fluid" tests, and 4 days later I still cannot eat solid foods (living on water, Gatorade, and popsickles). On top of this, my boss is getting annoyed that I'm not in the office. It's like she doesn't believe that my condition won't allow me to work. :( Not a good week at all!

I ate in the OSU dining halls for 3 years so I've developed immunity to food poisoning.

Hope things settle down for you. :)

Food poisoning is a real bitch. I dieted down from 20 weeks out of a powerlifting meet. I would allow myself to "cheat"once a week as long as my bodyweight was decreasing without losing strength. Two weeks out I had a chinese buffet. Shit cramps and puking became a part of my regimen for abs that I didn't expect. It was one of the worse things that could happen, because I no longer could eat. I didn't even bother competing, because the lack of food and hydration destroyed my strength levels..If food poisoning was a living human being I would have shook it's hand and said thanks a lot man..Much appreciated..From there on out I did the overnight water shed, and said to hell with a fixed diet..It works a lot better anyways for the goals.

I had it once, and it sucked. It was July 4th, 1999, my college buddies thought it was a good idea to eat psychedelic mushrooms and cook out. There was a cooked to uncooked plate mixup, and I spent over an hour in the bathroom trying to make the switch from puking to shitting without making a mess (successful) until it was all gone. My friends were all tripping balls (as was I), so they were of absolutely no help. The worst part was that it was 105 degrees outside, and the apartment had one a/c unit that barely worked. I wanted to sleep it off, but everytime I closed my eyes, I saw the blue meanies from Yellow Submarine. After I realized I was pretty much on my own, I started to gain some strength, and was able to get myself some water. After my friends had come down a bit, I got them to take me to another apartment that had good a/c. After a couple gatorades, I was back to partying.
