Best Sandwich in the Country

In the Wilmington, DE area we've got a small chain called Capriotti's, that makes some awesome subs. I think they've got the best turkey subs ever- actual pulled, shredded turkey (not the processed deli meat) with whatever you want on it and a great sub roll.

However, since we're close to Philadelphia, you cannot beat an authentic Philly cheesesteak from Pat's or Geno's in south Philly.

I really, really miss Bison Witches in Tucson. They're huge and messy ... and so damn good! By far the best sandwiches I've ever had.

When I lived there I ate meat, so I would always order the turkey and cheddar sandwich (called the Miss Pris :)), but now every time I get back there I get the veggie sandwich, which kicks ass for a veggie sammich.

That's a risk I'm willing to take.

And it would happen... and we'd probably both get busted for transporting hazardous materials... especailly with pepper sauce on it.

Sheesh, you all must have a different idea about sandwiches than I do. You seem to view sandwiches as cuisine, where I see them as food. Given that, give me a sack of White Castle cheeseburgers and I'm happy as a pig in shit.

Sandwiches are a near religious experience for me, especially since depriving myself like a Buddhist monk of anything that tastes remotely good since being on a health kick. I love anything with a base layer of at least one meat, on up to three or four, with a hefty serving of vegetables and cheeses, topped with any kind of sauce that will clog my arteries on some fresh, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside bread. Bonus points for bacon, jalapeno jack, banana peppers, and any kind of hot sauce that makes me sweat. Can you tell I haven't been to lunch yet?

Italian sandwhiches from the Quality Shop in Portland, Maine. It was a hell of a scary corner grocery store, but the subs were great. There is a place called Sam's, I think, up in Lewiston, ME that was pretty good, but I was always partial to the Quality Shop's.

I haven't been there in two decades so it may be gone, but the sandwhiches were the best.
