Bowl Possibilities for tOSU

here's a bowl possibility: we might stay at home for the holidays if the NCAA bans us from post-season play...

And I just heard yesterday (most of you probably already knew) that if we are banned from the bowls, we cannot play in the B1G championship game.

12 games and that's it.

Hopefully, Penn State will help us by making gold pants for tattoos look pretty freaking trivial.

Having said that, bring Oregon on - or Stanford - or Alabama. This is college football and if we are at our best we can beat anyone.

Go Bucks!

I don't have a problem with the Gator or Outback bowls this year... not sure I want to see 'Bama in the Capital One... I think we have even talent which makes it a Saban vs. Fickell matchup.

If there is a bowl ban, a one-year bowl ban this year would be the best case scenario....

Edit: I don't mind an Oregon or Stanford match up... at all. I think we have more talent than either team, which gives us a shot. We could easily lose, too, but I think it would be a great thing to get to the Rose Bowl again... 7th B1G ch'p in a row would be worth the trip...

Edit, Edit... just realized that Bama in the SEC's 2nd BCS is much more likely than in the Capital One... so we get Auburn or South Carolina in the Capital One? Don't hate that either, I guess... (Assuming LSU wins the SECCG)

Well,

ANY bowl trip will be better than the TOILET bowl they MAY have fought their way out of this year. All things considered any post season trip is a plus.

I also whole heartedly agree that our beloved Bucks are peaking and can conceivably beat anyone right about now.

The NCAA better get their announcement in soon if it is going to pertain to a bowl ban. 2 and a half weeks until we get done beating scUM and if they drag their feet, then they could have a B1G mess on their hands. I have personally been feeling that the punishment isn't going to include a bowl ban and so they will wait til after the regular season to announce the punishments.

And regarding the rose bowl nervousness, the winner of stanford and oregon could end up with a very good shot at the NCG. Which in turn would open up the rose to an at large. So it could be anyone in the top 10. Granted the committee for the rose usually has chosen to keep the traditional teams in it.

and since they took TCU last year, I believe they are NOT required anymore to take Boise if the pac12 champ ends up in the title game

exactly. I think that is why they did it last year....to "get it out of the way" so to speak.

Last year was the perfect year to take an at large non BCS team. Now they don't have to worry about it for awhile
