2023 CA DE Matayo Uiagalelei (Oregon Signee)

If you’re good enough you can make money through NIL short term AND in the NFL though. So idk why people can’t understand that. Many people graduate HS and enter the working force, and then move up the ladder and gain more success. These kids are creating clothing lines, endorsing sports drinks, apparel, home goods, cars, etc. They’re also getting agents and financial advisors, and I’m sure many of these schools are providing financial courses as well through the collectives. This is no longer the bagmen days, kids/parents aren’t meeting behind a sketchy strip mall and getting a duffel bag of cash anymore.

Uhh..you didn't hear this from me, but the 'sketchy strip mall bagmen guys' have been spotted on a college campus in Knoxville. And they are out in the open!!

@ORD_Buckeye will be happy to know Coach Day is a martini man.

Noted last night in Day's thread! Also nice to see that while I'm sure they're not serving kids martinis and wine neither are they running some faux temple of temperance. They're treating the kids like adult men who are mature enough to be around older adults having adult beverages.

Yikes, kid freaking looks like Thibodaux (sp?) already from a physical standpoint. Looks like he had a good time on his visit, hopefully that makes a lasting impression, though I think he'll be tough to pull off (not doubting the staff and counting us out though). Thinking with his size, he might end up at DT by the time he's ready to play college ball. Also, kudos to that restaurant having Coach Day's martini already fired up and on the table.

I think JT Tuimoloau was the same size coming out of HS. We may be able to keep him at DE. Regardless, just get him in the program and then figure it out

“For USC, it probably helps them to play against better competition. I’m sure Oregon will be fine and Ohio State is still Ohio State. Location was never a factor for me, I’ll go anywhere, I’m just looking for the best all around fit.”

Uiagalelei said he’s still planning to take his time with his decision and will likely take another official visit during the fall to Alabama. He said he wants to watch the teams to play during the season to get a better idea of how he’ll fit in.”
