Mo was an all-star, yes, but who cares if he can't get it done in the playoffs? And let's face it--he's been bad in the playoffs for years now--it's not like 2010 is anything new. Why not trade him for someone who might perform better?

Trading for Shaq was a great move and we'd get to see why if Cleveland faced Orlando in the next round. That isn't happeneing though so it looks like a bad move. Bt if we beat Boston like we were supposed to, Shaq would have been worth his weight in gold against Dwight Howard. And that is a lot of gold.

I agree.

The Jamison trade should have worked out better but hasn't. Maybe a bad move, although an athletic 4 that can shoot was supposed to open up the court even more for LeBron and help Shaq in the post. Unfortunately Jamison has become a defensive liability and he hasn't been finishing well at the rim. In hindsight, I think Ferry probably wishes he dealt for Stoudamire who dunks half the plays Jamison flips the ball at.

See, this I think was one of Ferry's dumbest moves. I watched a lot of Wizards games when Jamison was in Washington, and I'm not surprised at all that he's been a bust in Cleveland.

And Anthony Parker was a decent signing this year once they couldn't land Ariza. Put the Ariza situation onLeBron though. Trevor flat out stated he didn't think LeBron was going to be back after this season, and he didn;t want to be left holding a bag in Cleveland. LeBron tried calling and talking him into it, but he wouldn't take the bait. If LeBron re-upped like Kobe has, or made his intentions known, Cleveland would have had one more piece to the puzzle in Ariza.

I see what you're saying here too. But what about Larry Hughes, keeping Eric Snow around as long as he did, etc.? And what about the draft? Here's the Cavs' picks since '05:

Eyenga -- jury is out, but a guy like Blair really could have helped this team this year
Hickson -- good pick
Brown -- bust as far as draft picks go
Gibson -- seemed like a nice pickup for awhile, but now he doesn't even see the floor
Ugboaja -- please

Yea it would make the offense a little bit worse possibly although we aren't even pushing the ball anyways, but our defense and rebounding is what is killing us. We are letting up offensive rebound after offensive rebound and Garnett is killing the smaller Jamison at every opportunity. I like the bigger lineup idea. Mo Williams is killing us defensively as well and this would get him out of there.

I get the point about the draft, but I take a different view.

First of all, let's take out Eyenga. I agree the Blair could've been helpful now, but he also had some major question marks and Eyenga may turn out to be more useful in the long-term.

Hickson was a good pick. No argument there.

Brown didn't work out in Cleveland, but is now filling a role for the Lakers. I place more of the responsibility for that on Shannon Brown than I do on Danny Ferry. The talent was there, the execution just did not arrive until late. One could argue that a guy like Shannon Brown could've continued to develop on the Cavs' roster instead of trading him away if Ferry wasn't being pressured to cash in any tradeable asset every year to make LeBron happy.

Gibson and Ugboaja were second round picks. At that point it's a crapshoot.

As far as the draft goes, I think the Cavs were hurt more by what Ferry's predecessor did to deprive the team of picks. They had no picks in the 2005 and 2007 drafts. Solid or lucky picks in those drafts could have become mature players by now and be contributing to the team.

Like everyone else, very disappointed. I don't think Lebron is going anywhere, but Mike Brown has GOT TO GO. He's just not a good coach. Unfortunately, Lebron had a good game tonight, as well as Mo, but NO ONE ELSE showed up. Very disappointing. Drop Jamison (WHAT A FREAKING BUST OF A TRADE THAT WAS), Shaq, ehhh whatever, he can go or stay (most likely go), if he goes, GET BOSH. Drop Moon, and Z (his career is about done) as well and we've got some money to get some guys. We need a better coach though, but first and foremost, you ask Lebron whatever he wants, and you give it to him immediately.

Unfortunately this isn't the NFL. The Cavs are on the hook for Antwan Jamison's contract so no max deals to be had. Meaning no Chris Bosh.

The Cavs are looking at a nucleus of Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison, and Andy Varajao with or without LeBron next year. We might as well look at what Washington was like the last few years and anticipate that. We have enough talent to make the palyoffs a few years, but after that we'll have to overpay for free-agents and fall into a Tooronto Rapters mode....

Look for Gilbert to move the Cavs to Vegas if the NBA allows a franhise in Sin City. The only thing that keeps Cleveland afloat is a miracle that LeBron loves being close to Akron. I'm not holding my breath...

He's a valuable addition.... Sadly as much as I like Mo I think he could be the source of our playoff woes, him or the SG.... We need better guard play.

look at what the cavs gave up to get mo williams, shaq, and jamison and try to explain how they were bad moves. actually, look at the draft picks and see how they were bad, given where they were selected. more thinking, less whining.

If legal, Gilbert better be ready to offer LeBron an equity position in the Cavs to keep him. I recall the troubled days before lbj, and the subsequent team sale value by Gund being over 100 mill higher with sell-outs only a few years later.

Jiri Welsh is the one major gaffe of the LeBron era. I'm still hoping against hope LBJ maintains his Ohio loyalty, but I'm not holding my breath. Something was not right about him these playoffs, particularly this series. Oh, the other major mistake was hiring Mike Brown as the coach. The man is a buffoon and the one silver lining of this debacle means he is likely gone. I said all along the Cavs wouldn't win a title with his goofy ass in charge, sad to see I was right.
