Cincinnati Bengals (Just Burrow In)

Bell signs with Carolina, fuckkkkk. Can't lose him and Bates. Resigned Pratt though, thought that would be the opposite but I guess at least Pratt is back. Bell leaving is a swift kick to the nuggets though. Could be in trouble at safety.
They will be fine. I hat losing Bell because of his locker room presence but there are free agents still out there that are at or above his level. Bates was gone no matter what. Good player but I don't think he is top 5 level

A lot of it is locker room leadership for me and how much he has contributed in Cincy. But if we can get a decent free agent there to go with Hill, I think we will be alright.

I hadn't heard of Perine's departure. Mixon is also gone. Link

They're saying Burrow met the Chargers' Ekeler for dinner. I must admit I had never heard of Ekeler until very recently but I've read he is quite good at running the football.

Yeah we're losing everyone except Pratt despite having the third most cap space going into free agency. Just lost Hurst as well. There's a ton of money sitting there, but less and less players by the day. So I'm getting concerned that there's actually a strategy.

On Ekeler, he's very good but I imagine will ask for a bigger price tag than Mixon and I don't want to pay a ton for RB. To me you keep Perine on a cheaper deal and draft a guy in like round 3 or 4. But now we have zero RBs, we have to hit free agency for at least one.

Although I wanted him in South Beach, Miles Sanders should be at the top of the Bengals wish list at RB for that Offense. Then they can bring Zeke back to Ohio for a cheaper price as the big back. The sales for those jerseys would pay for his salary I'm sure.

Bengals going in hard to protect Burrow.

Really like this pickup despite hating most of the departures. I hope to the heavens he is an improvement on Jonah Williams at LT and think he will be. Rest of the OL we can roll with, though we should draft someone at OL at some point.

Now we gotta focus on defense both in the draft and FA, only RB and TE on offense. I trust the hell out of Lou but there were some big hits there at DB. Good news is that the front 7 should be stellar.

Bengals running back Joe Mixon is not listed as a suspect in a shooting that took place at his home earlier this week, police records show. There is no indictment coming according to local officials. On Tuesday, sheriff's deputies entered Mixon’s home in response to a “shots fired” call, Fox19 in Cincinnati first reported. No arrests were made, and a juvenile was taken to the hospital with “minor injuries,” according to the report.

Mixon's home was the scene of an investigation after a teenager was shot during a game of "Nerf Wars", which usually involves toy guns. County prosecutors have alleged that Lamonte Brewer, who is listed as the boyfriend of Mixon's sister, fired 11 times at the teenager in Mixon's backyard. The teenager was reportedly hit once in the foot.

Brewer, along with Mixon's sister, were indicted on multiple felonies, including obstruction of justice.

"No charges are being filed against (Mixon)," Hamilton County prosecutor Melissa Powers said Thursday at a news conference in Cincinnati, via ESPN. "He did not commit a crime."

Source: Jonah Williams seeks Bengals exit after Brown deal

The longest-tenured member of the Cincinnati Bengals' offensive line is seeking a trade.

Offensive tackle Jonah Williams has expressed his desire to be traded, a source confirmed to ESPN on Friday. The request comes after four-time Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown Jr. agreed to terms with the Bengals earlier in the week.

Williams, the Bengals' first-round selection in 2019, has been their primary starter at left tackle since he arrived. But it appeared he had been supplanted from his position as the team's anchor on the line after Cincinnati landed Brown on a four-year, $64 million deal that included a $31 million signing bonus.

Brown signed his Bengals contract Friday. In a news conference in Cincinnati, Brown and offensive line coach Frank Pollack told local reporters that the new addition will play left tackle.

Pollack declined to get into specifics regarding Williams' trade request but said he had spoken to the Bengals' veteran.

"I hope we get to coach him," Pollack said. "He's a good football player. He's got a bright future. Hopefully it's still here with the Bengals in 2023."

I’m pretty bored today, so I figured I’d give a way too early Draft projection/wishlist now that the dust seems to be settling on FA. There have been rumors of Ezekiel Elliott narrowing his list down to Eagles, Bengals, and Jets. If he can take a significant pay cut, I’m all for him filling Perine’s role as a backup. That being said, let’s get into the draft.

When it comes to the first round there’s a number of factors that need to play out for each position to be viable. IMO, if Bijan Robinson is available at 28, I think the Bengals draft him in a heartbeat and cut Mixon. If he’s not available, I think you take a RT. My top three in that range would be Anton Harrison, Broderick Jones, Dawand Jones, and Darnell Wright. I have to admit, the prospect of having two mammoth 6’8” tackles on the roster excites me quite a bit so I’m all aboard the Dawand hype train. If somehow none of those OTs are available, I think you take best TE available. Michael Mayers would be most ideal in that position. Not really interested in Dalton Kincaid, and am even less interested in Luke Musgrave. Musgrave gives me Jermaine Gresham vibes, and Kincaid just has too many injury concerns (Eifert comp) for my liking.

In the second, I think you take whatever you didn’t take in the first. If you found a solid OT, you take any of Darnell Washington (most preferred in this position), Sam LaPorta, or Tucker Kraft. I think Jahmyr Gibbs is also a great option at this position in the draft.

Third, if you’ve taken OT first, TE second, Tyjae Spears out of Tulane would be a solid grab to fill the RB group out. If you’ve taken Bijan first, TE second, best OT I see available here is Blake Freeland out of BYU. I also wouldn’t be upset at grabbing another TE here either. We are dangerously thin at TE. So if Tucker Kraft or Sam LaPorta is somehow still available, you grab one of those guys.

Fourth, I think you go DT here. Best guys I’ve seen potentially available here are Moro Ojomo out of Texas, Keondre Coburn out of Texas, Zacch Pickens out of S. Carolina, and Byron Young from Alabama. If you take a second TE anytime after the third, I think your best option is Zack Kuntz from ODU. If you take a RB anytime after the 3rd, your best options are probably Chase Brown from Illinois, Keaton Mitchell from ECU (fastest 40 time among RBs at 4.38), Eric Gray from OU, and Mo Ibrahim as a potential late draft option.

Fifth, Six, and Seventh are a bit of a wash because it’s hard telling who will be available, but some dark horse players to keep a look out for in these rounds would be OTs Wanya Morris from OU and Nick Saldiveri from ODU, CBs Riley Moss from Iowa, Mekhi Blackmon from USC, and Cory Trice from Purdue (who looks to me like someone who could slot in at Safety and fill a position of need), OGs Emil Ekiyor from Alabama, Jarrett Patterson from ND, and John Gaines II from UCLA, and Centers Ricky Stromberg from Arkansas and Alex Forsyth from Oregon.

The Bengals went very heavy on defense last draft, and outside of addressing two or three needs there, I expect this to be an offense heavy draft. Would love to feel comfortable about solid OL depth while also filling out needs at RB (assuming Mixon doesn’t take a pay cut and/or Zeke doesn’t sign) and TE.
