Clemson RB James Davis (official thread)

Weren't you the one that made the comment about your dog getting so excited when you got home it spins around 3 times and then goes to the bathroom? Bad attempt at humor on my part. :shake:

yes he does. he would just run over and lick davis until he got to know him a little better. if davis rubbed his belly, then a spin and pee may be in order.

JAMES DAVIS
School, class: Douglass, senior
Position: Running back
Vital statistics: 6-1, 205

Just the facts: Explosive runner who had 1,692 yards and 18 touchdowns despite a midseason ankle injury. Good hands with 14 receptions for 226 yards. As a sophomore, had 1,450 yards rushing. Runs a 4.45 in the 40 and benches 295 pounds.

Colleges: Top choices are Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia Tech, LSU and Georgia.

Interests: Reading, playing Play Station II and watching football films.
T-shirts or throwback jerseys: Throwback. I like the idea that you can wear an old school player jersey.

General comment on the season: "I know it will be tough, but we are going 10-0 on the regular season."

Buckskin86, do you know what Kurelic's chat says about Davis?

He said that he was a long shot but anything could happen (probably stays with Va Tech)- translation= he doesn't know much about him and was caught by suprise like the rest of us by his official visit. :tongue2:

Thanks for the info. After this kid visits, I wouldn't be suprised if he becomes our #2 back behind Mo Wells. We are probably #2 right now behind vatech and are chances aren't great with Gwaltney. He could be 215-220 next year and would go along with Haw as a bigger back.

gary housteau had a promising tidbit a bout gwaltny on BN. his latest rivals update states that PT is the most important factor. that has to give osu and edge over usc and put them at least on par with wvu.

now if your pt chances were about the same at osu and wvu, what would you choose?

however, petey caroll can sell him some lines about how bush, lendell white and dennis will all leave for the nfl after next year and gwaltny wil have the job for himself etc...

Kentucky has come on strong as of late and Davis has some interest because all the shools he's considering are currently even. Ohio State is mentioned in the article but when he talks about what schools he's considering Davis does not list the Buckeyes, FWIW.

Davis is scheduled to visit OSU this weekend according to the Nuts.
Him and Russell along with a bunch of committed kids.
Should be a good weekend. If Gwaltney goes to WVU then the bucks should grab Davis this weekend as their big back to go along with Wells.

Davis will be taking the ACT this weekend so he will not be able to make it for the scheduled visit to Columbus. Va Tech is still his leader but he will not make a decision until he weighs his options and takes his visits.

“My next visit may be to Ohio State,” Davis said. “I’m probably going to do it sometime in January.”

Mel Tucker is handling his recruitment. He's been told there is a chance for early PT with only Pittman and Haw returning along with whoever else the Buckeyes land in this class.
