Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Just saw this and thought it was interesting. Not saying what it might sound like I'm saying, it's just interesting.

Weeden has more completions, a higher completion percentage, more yards, more touchdowns and fewer sacks than Andrew Luck. Luck has two fewer INTs. Same exact passer rating.

Again, I'm not saying Weeden is better.. just one of those statistical tidbits that I find interesting.. haha

Let's compare all of those but completion % after Weeden has his bye week

I can only imagine what the defense would look like with Jarvis Jones and another good CB. Give me a run down DL of Winn, Rubin, Taylor, and Sheard with Jones at OLB and then rest Taylor or Rubin on passing down to bump Winn inside with Jones at DE. I want it so bad it means it will never happen.

Imagine what the Offense would look like with just a capable G at play instead of Lavauo and a bit more intensity in run blocking?

I like our chances at Jones myself.

KC, Jacksonville & Carolina will realistically, be the only teams drafting ahead of us. Of course one must give consideration to New Orleans or Oakland.

I'm prepared to hand the #1 Overall to KC. Fine, so be it. If they draft Barkley or Geno then they deserve exactly what's coming to them. More shitty QB play. Of course KC is in such a bad spot it's hard to imagine those two being worse then Cassel or Quinn. Does Jacksonville go QB? or surround their struggling young signal caller with another weapon and give him another year? I think they go that route. Carolina's secondary is rat shit. They might reach huge and go with Johnthan Banks here.

Either way we're drafting top 5. So that gives you either Jones or Te'o.
I'd prefer Jones for the simple fact he can be our 3rd down pass rusher. But if Manti is a consolation prize, I guess I can't be too upset. That kid is a legit talent.

The question is, do the Jets go ape shit and try to trade up as far as possible??

edit: I have a feeling the combine will play a huge role here. Especially in determining who Carolina picks.

His completion % would be way above Luck's if we counted all of the passes thrown to Little. It was nice to see Marecic deactivated yesterday.

Didn't they have a stat yesterday during the game that Weeden leads the league in catchable balls dropped? Something like 21 for the season? We know at least one of those was a sure touchdown/game winner.

Yes it was. Smith is such an upgrade and he's out of position and blocks high.

It'll be nice to see Boren in a Browns uni.

I agree. IMO Boren would be a perfect fit at FB since he is a great blocker and can catch. I'm sure he would be pretty cheap in the draft as well.

If I wish one thing for Haslam it is that he gets how most Browns fans are also Buckeye fans so it wouldn't hurt to use a pick on a Buckeye every once in a while. The Steelers never seem to have trouble drafting Buckeyes so hopefully Haslam will bring that over.

Let's just hope Shurmur doesn't hand Smith the fucking ball again.

It really depends who they are playing and how bad we need the L. We can only afford to win one maybe two more games and these guys aren't as shitty as they used to be. I would prefer losing by coaching errors rather than player errors.

In that case, let them run that fabulous, well-timed double reverse next time with Merecic as the pitch man and Smith as the receiver/runner

And you know the thing is, Barkley and Gino have lost some of their luster, so if someone doesn't go full retard, which looks less and less likely, then we don't want the number one pick. So we want to suck, but not necessarily suck that bad.

Well, in a pinch they can always fire Shurmur and hire someone from the "Lets put 6 QB's on the field and run throwback passes all day" thread.

Am I just cynical or is anyone else not getting this sudden vocal support for Shurmur by fans and talking heads? I don't see Shurmur as the future coach of this team. I do not and have not seen anything to lead me to believe he has the ability to lead this team to the playoffs. He is consistently outcoached and still has no idea how to prepare a team for an NFL game. To me this team is improving in spite of Shurmur, not because of him.

Yes I know...my point was just it's meaningless to compare QBs when one has played one less game.
