Clowns aren't even going to get the "reward" of being the worst and getting an up-close look at the seniors by coaching them at the Senior Bowl. Story is the Broncos and Texans have it. Rumors are the Clowns practices last year were rather lacking. Color me shocked! Oh, I'm sure it was all Sashi's fault though and had nothing to do with Hue.

My dream offense for next year (relatively speaking of course)

JT comes back, centers and guards the same. Spend money on the RT you should have spent with Schwartz.

Gordon on one side, Coleman in the slot, and a WR2 either in FA or in the first 2 rounds, draft Lazard in rounds 4-5 for depth.

Duke as the complementary RB to Barkley at 4.

Alex Smith at QB with someone new (Rosen or Allen) sitting for a season.

What we will get instead:

D’Umbass starting. A scrap heap veteran who has never started or started 10 years ago as a backup.

Gordon out wide until he fails a drug test. Another disaster WR veteran looking for a last paycheck to go with Coleman outside where he can’t run any routes.

Completely underused Duke Johnson when they spend FA money on a RB who will average 2.6 yards a carry.

JT will retire, Bitonio will get hurt again, and Dorsey will spend the #4 on a tackle who will struggle on the right side, while Coleman will be a disaster on the left.

1-15 again

Alright. So in the great tradition we have of out GMing the Browns.

How about this?

What if... They got Teddy Bridgewater instead of drafting someone. He's probably what 26? Probably a still developing commodity. Heck you could probably get him and Sam Bradford as your insurance policy unless the vikings for God knows what reason doesn't pay case keenum.

Think of it like fixing the Johnny Manziel debacle by getting the guy you should have taken instead on a bridge priced deal.

Then, you could get Barkley and Connor Williams or Orlando Brown Jr or Minkah Fitzpatrick... And still have all the 2nds (one of which you might have to burn to get Alex Smith plus drafting a QB.)

Nah, I mean Bridgewater is an interesting idea, but his knees are shredded to the point you can’t rely on him as “the guy” anymore. I can’t see any scenario at all where they don’t burn at least one of those first rounders on a QB. Supposedly, Dorsey likes Allen because of his size and mobility...might be able to get him at 4. But I can’t see any way that they don’t draft a guy and sit him for a year. And, given that, I don’t think Bridgewater is the guy, because he won’t want to be playing to keep the seat warm at only 26.

Bradford's knees are shredded. Has Bridgewater had more than the one injury? I realize it was a big scary one but I guess I'm not sure about his injury history. I don't see where he missed a game at Louisville or Minnesota before that. His injury report has an ankle sprain and grade 1 concussion that didn't cause him to miss time (as far as I can tell)

Considering the number of holes on the roster, I fully agree the Browns should try and get someone like Bridgewater and use their picks elsewhere. The idea that these idiots are going to figure out who will be an excellent pro QB is laughable for a couple reasons... 1 - this is a franchise that hasn't been able to find a capable QB in 2 fucking decades, and 2 - whoever they draft will necessarily be a bust because the Browns don't have the other pieces in place. I say again, the Browns didn't miss on guys like Wentz and Watson. Because had the Browns taken them they would not look like Wentz with Philly or Watson with Houston. Chasing yet another QB in the draft.... stupid, stupid, stupid. It's what they'll do, of course, but in my view they'd be MUCH better off getting a known commodity in the likes of a Bridgewater or Alex Smith... not to lead them to the promised land... but.. who the fuck are they kidding, these schmucks aren't a QB away from sniffing the promised land anyway.

QB is a scary proposition in this draft. Rosen sounds like he'll pull the Elway/Stouffer/Eli trick if the Clowns draft him. Darnold is going to be a massive flop; how anybody that watched him this season doesn't think he will washout within 3 years in a flurry of turnovers is beyond me. Allen is raw as hell, and put up some VERY pedestrian numbers this year (yes, I know the talent he had sucked, but so did the competition). I don't envy whoever has to make that choice.

I'd take Rosen, let him meet JT, Bito, Zeitler and Gordon. If he's still a chaunce that wants to go to NY where the Oline is by far worse... trade him.

Still would like to trade down from 4 to 8ish.

Edit: would like to point out I very much don't believe Rosen will pull an ELI.

I feel like I'm the only person that doesn't see Barkley has a top 5 pick. I've watched the guy dead to rights drop some open passes no RB, let alone a D1 athlete should. I just don't see him as a dynamic weapon off the ball and in pass pro to justify that type of cost. Anybody else think he is somehow Zeke like? Because I don't.
He plays well in space and has moxie...what more could you want....8D

I’m with you. The guy is a RB. Haven’t the Browns learned that lesson?
