Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

kings could make the playoffs next year...they have a decent team...if tyreke evans can stay healthy the whole year there is a chance...but it sucks the pick is lottery protected...otherwise i think this trade would be a home run....casspi can at least shoot a decent 3....hickson was gone so i like the idea of trading him now while his value is still good enough to get casspi and a future 1st round pick...the kings are going to make the playoffs its just a matter of when....possible lineup now for next year...and lastly im surprised hickson went before sessions

PG - Davis
SG - Parker
SF - Casspi
PF - Thompson
C - Varejo

Model Says #1 NBA Draft Pick Harrassed Her, Masturbated Online

A model has filed two police reports for harassment on former Duke University point guard and #1 NBA draft pick Kyrie Irving.

Miss Hawaii, real name Jessica Jackson, claims to have a video of Irving masturbating on Skype.

Cleveland Cavalier Kyrie Irving files police report amid Twitter threat

West Orange Town, NJ (WOIO) -

The Cleveland Cavaliers number one draft pick, Kyrie Irving filed a police report saying he was being threatened by a woman he met through Twitter.

The woman is identified as Jessica Jackson also known as Miss Hawaii.

According to the West Orange Police report, Irving says he met Jackson once in person in front of the Ritz Carlton in Charleston, North Carolina for two minutes. The two had a short conversation and then went their separate ways.

Irving says Jackson then posted some videos on YouTube blasting him and allegedly threatened to stab him via his Twitter account.

Irving's attorney also filed a harassment complaint and there was a hearing in West Orange Municipal Court on June 28th for a restraining order against Jackson.

Both Irving and Jackson appeared in court on June 28th, and the judge ordered Jackson not to contact Irving again.

Jackson allegedly did contact him again, and Irving's attorney contacted the court.

A similar report was filed by Irving in Coral Gables, Florida.

Does Cleveland still have the big LeBron James trade exemption/salary cap shit? I really don't understand NBA salary cap rules, but I though they'd have some room to wiggle with after losing James.

It'd be interesting if they went after David West, me-thinks. Don't know if that would impact Thompson. Of course, I think West is trying to sign with a team with heavy NBA Title considerations, not necessarily the money. But, it was a thought.

Unable to confirm, but there are rumblings that the first round pick acquired from Sacremento is actually the Houston Rockets first round pick that Sac aquired in a previous trade (Kevin Martin).

if true then that pick might not be lottery protected and that would be sweet...but chris grant had a press confrence already so you would think the question of which 1st round pick acquired was asked

Closest thing to good news heard today: Cavs still very open to making another trade before midnight using their $14.6M trade exception

35 minutes ago via TweetDeck

No deal imminent at last report but CLE preference is using it now since no one knows if such exceptions will even exist in next labor pact

CLE exception expires July 11 under current CBA. But we'll be in midst of lockout then, so Cavs motivated to keep looking for deals tonight

with a lockout that could take up to a year, you take as close to a good deal as you can get...if the kings make the playoffs in the next 3 years it will be great

JJ was gone next year anyway. Even with a new collective bargaining agreement, NBA GMs will continue to overpay free agents. This saves the Cavs from getting into a bidding war to see who could give JJ the most undeserved amount of money.

In addition, it gives Tristan Thompson more court time and increases the chances that the Cavs will be picking high in the lottery next year with a better draft class. I would be stoked if they could somehow get another lottery pick using the TPE.

This trade today though absolutely works in Cleveland's favor... and not in Sacremento's. The Kings could enter the territory of the NBA that I'm hoping the Cavs can avoid: the hopeless middle. Its where you make the playoffs every year with no hope of winning a title, attracting a bigtime free agent or getting a franchise player in the draft. Its the worst place to be in the NBA.

you are right about the lockout consideration, that's why i don't think it's an awful deal. but i just wonder if other teams such as denver or indiana with young talent, but questionable power forwards may have been interested in jj and thus been better trade partners. it just depends who they are able to get for that 1st round pick, because i don't expect much from casspi from what i saw of him.

i actually think this deal is better for sac. if evans stays healthy and cousins keeps his head on straight they have a nice nucleus without giving up much. they actually could have been in a better position if they never made the dumb draft day trade and gotten jimmer and instead just have picked up kemba or klay thompson.

Wait till you see Tristan Thompson at PF? JJ had small hands and is going to be overpaid in two years. Hope it works. I liked JJ too, but I'll give them a shot.

I agree about jj being overpaid in two years. And if that is the case, might as well trade him now. I'm not crazy about the high protections on the pick either, but I don't think any lower rung team was going to give an unprotected first rounder for jj.
