Coach Bill Conley (official thread)

BN is hilarious over this. Posters are calling out conley on some comments and the moderators are doing damage control.

What I like the most is that Duane Long has been dead set against osu pursuing maurice wells since we first learned of his offer. Conley was the one tha urged the offering of wells. He loves him. Now that Conley is writing for BN, Duane Long is changing his tune about Wells.

i have got in a couple of times only to be banned as soon as that shemale kirk checks his ip addresses or whatnot and recognized me.

hint being PM'd to clarity as i type.

good luck and get me a paste of the juicy shit if you get anything.

Gawd I love that photo BIATCHabutuka!!!!! Munch is a jackass. He is a mason man and has been bad mouthing Tressel even all through the 2002 season. Wouldnt even give the staff credit for stepping up and winning in Tempe. There was a time when Bucknuts was a great site.... back when it was totally free. Back when Duane and others with good information posted on the regular message boards and not from "on high" Every site that has gone from free to pay... IMO has gone straight to shit.

Why? Becuase they have to start running it like a business instead of running it as a passionate hobby.

I have to agree with Biatchabatuka on Duane Long.

I saw him on ONN a year or two ago on a recruiting special and that guy was so obese I couldn't believe it! And I'm not trying to be funny or exaggerate, I bet he weighed 400+ lbs.

Reminded you of that fat guy in HS that played Dungeons and Dragons and fawned over the Varsity football players and enjoyed sniffing their jocks. I don't know how he can be an expert if he rarely if ever watches a game in person.

I'm a big fan of Bill Kurelic myself.

I guarantee he's not been to a game since 'Nam.

Since this thread has digressed from conley ... There are a bunch of reasons that BP is better than BN. I'd say the biggest one is that the sense of community here makes lurkers like me want to post. It's cool how you can say whatever you want, but the nuts and bolts of how this site works are alot better too (customization, arcade, BPbook). The only reason to go back there is for the insiders nifty sortable recruit database and captains corner.

Agreed. I like Buckeye Planet much better for the forums and the people. Curious, I am going to sign back up for either Rivals or Insiders, which would you recommend. Don't want to take up forum space but would appreciate input. Drop me a private message!!

I'll speak in Duane's defense. IMO, he offers the best insight of any of the guru's. I find myself agreeing with him more often than not and he has been way ahead of the curve on many recruiting issues. For example- He predicted Ginn to WR (instead of CB) over a year ago, he thought Hoobler's best position was MLB while most predicted him at TE, he thought Donte's best position would be safety and on and on. Now he has made his share of mistakes like his Burgess/Crable predicitons but at least he will go out on a limb unlike BK (whose favorite prediction is that it is 50/50).

In addition, his after game analysis is a must read and usually has alot of unique insight. He is the main reason I keep my premium membership over there. Just my $.02!

My .02cents (actually worth less)

I am a lurker mostly cause I am tooooo damn busy to keep up like you gurus...noticed that BN wasn't providing the info I was used to. I then noticed that Mili and a few others were absent. I asked on BN were Mili was, as I knew were he was would be much more entertaining and insightful than the remainders on BN, and the posters sent me here. Never looked back. Still have my membership at BN only cause I'm to damn busy to cancel it. I have sent many people from BN to BP and all agree that it's a lot more entertaining.

I will defend Duane too, only reason I am still a member at this time. Not only has Duane called all those moves that Skins mentioned he is a great judge of talent. He called Hawk's dominance well before he ever stepped foot on campus. Even when all the buzz was around D'Andrea and Carp, he said Hawk was the man. He's been wrong where he thought people would end up, but who hasn't?

I might be answering my own question. I was a member a few years ago and Duane called the Mo Hall as well. Said he could not be a succeful Rb needed to move to CB...

I hate what Conley is doing. He is quickly going to become irrelevant anyway. He will have no idea what is going on with currrent recruiting because he is obviously out of the loop. He will be able to offer his opinion but that's it. What's he going to talk about? The time he offered Reggie Germany? When he timed Ken Yon Rambo in the 40? He's pissed that he's out and this is how he is handling it. Fuck him and Munch (and 610 AM).

Duane, on the other hand, is one of the better guys out there as far as evaluating talent, IMO.

I also remember him saying what a stud Hawk was going to be. That was a great call, expecially with that LB class. He's high on Pittman AND Haw, so I'm excited about those two. Could be a Kevin Jones/Lee Suggs combo A LA Virginia Tech a few years ago. Twin 1000 yard rushers.
