And I just noticed that they officially announced Pirates 4. Not that this has anything to do with Burton, but still. Ugh, they will milk it until even the first one sucks.

Hello? Disney run movie franchise? Ever hear of "High School Musical?"

No such thing as milking when you can just keep beating a dead horse since kids will continue to badger their parents to buy it. :wink2:

that pretty much sums it up. Always said Disney was a bunch of nazis. They also keep recycling the same animated crap over and over again. But hey, it sells. wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire though

Ugh.. I was just getting over seeing Jack Sparrow in most of Depp's roles too.

Lets not act like he isn't capable of a crappy movie.

The cast, director, and plot seem great but the trailer doesn't really make me interested in seeing it. Looks like a mediocre effort from Depp.

I hope it's good. Definitely looking forward to some reviews from people on here after they see it.

Another review is in..

Yay!

'Funny People'

Can't wait.
Agreed. It's Apatow. Sandler can surprise you every now and then on the rare occasion he's given the right material. I'm a big Rogen fan and it looks like a great supporting cast.

It's funny, I still haven't seen Public Enemies. I was all excited. :shake:

I think District 9 looks pretty awesome.
I went and saw it opening night and was really let down. That was the movie I was looking most forward too all summer because Michael Mann, Depp and Bale doing Dillinger seemed like a sure slam dunk. Now, it wasn't a bad movie, just a victim of me hyping it up too much.

That was a GREAT book. It has a good cast, but I don't know much about the director. Seems like it would be pretty difficult to [censored] up Cormac McCarthy, but you never know. If it's anything close to 'No Country For Old Men', though the book was better than the flick, it'll be very good. I'll definately check it out. I'd have loved for the Coens to do it too.

Looks like it might be too sappy and take itself too seriously. Kinda iffy on whether that looks good.
Been getting good feedback:

Jeffrey Wells from Hollywood Elsewhere received feedback from sources who had seen a test screening, with one source calling it "really funny, a really sweet movie, a lot of veracity...really a brilliant film", comparing it to the works of James L. Brooks. Another source who gave feedback mentioned the possibility of Academy Award nominations for the film, notably Best Original Screenplay for Apatow and Best Actor for Sandler.

Apatow's flicks have all had some serious undertones. Maybe not as much as this one, but sometimes a good balance makes a great movie. We'll see I guess. I'm intrigued to see Sandler's performance. He's showed his serious side a couple times ('Punchdrunk Love' and 'Reign Over Me') and I've come away impressed.

I thought 'Click' was pretty good as well.

I'm trying not to get too pumped up about it, but I love cast. I'm also avoiding watching a bunch of trailers and previews and stuff, just in case it turns out to be one of those comedies where all the funny moments were covered in the previews, but I highly doubt it with the actors in it.

I expect a good amount of comedy and a pretty good story to go along with it, should be good (fingers crossed).
