Cut my own today. Wife was shocked at how well it turned out lol. Daughter had to fix the back a little but all in all not a bad effort. I have paid for worse.
I always cut mine anyway, but I went way shorter than I have in a long time as soon as I knew how long we might be home... Didn’t really like it at first, but it’s growing on me.

Yet another bullshit story blown to pieces. JFC media, vet a piece before running with it. Then again, clicks are more important than integrity.

CBS Forced To Walk Back Viral Video Of Crying Nurse

TL;DL synopsis:

1. CBS runs viral, unvetted video of a nurse crying that she quit her job because she was assigned a COVID-positive patient in an ICU, wasn't issued an N95 mask because the hospital was short, and had to use her own that she brought
2. Nurse later recants that the hospital did indeed issue everyone one N95 mask for each COVID patient's room
3. After CBS is referred by the hospital back to the nurse as to the circumstances of her quitting, they learn that she hadn't even worked there for over a year before coming in to quit

So rather than being fourth in line for some well deserved ribbing over me posting that refuted report, you're instead sticking to mocking healthcare workers.

I suppose the er entrance truther pix get stale after awhile.

P.s. clicked through to see what PJ the wise was peddling. Second retweet was the shocking presser from the president (pretty much the opposite). The others were the vast conspiracies left and right, my favorite being the autoshop mastermind who had inside info to stockpile masks.

There were 846 tests in the entire usa that day, or 0.14 tests per hospital, and there were less when someone typed that up.

Let's also gloss over the other half of your supposed smoking gun: they're asking people to properly mark covid deaths as covid deaths, which means that wasn't happening either.

Please tell me more about how this is all oversold. Maybe there's a compelling Qanon thread I can send to my overwhelmed friends in the Beaumont health system, so they can start coming around to your side about how serious this is:

Just a nice feel good story to start your week. I’m a big omen guy. And if you don’t think these 2 pandas fucking (naturally) for the first time in a decade of dating isn’t a sign the world is turning a corner then I can’t help you. My boy Ying Ying was in the friendzone for TEN fucking years and now he’s giving Le Le that good ass panda dick. Happy endings do exist, no pun intended.

A zoo has been trying to get two pandas to mate for 10 years. When coronavirus shut the zoo down, the pandas finally did

It seems all these giant pandas needed was a little privacy.

Parenthood might be around the corner for Ying Ying and Le Le, which are longtime residents of Ocean Park in Hong Kong. Zoo officials announced Monday that after 10 years of attempts at natural mating, and "through trial and learning," the two have finally succeeded.

"The successful natural mating process today is extremely exciting for all of us, as the chance of pregnancy via natural mating is higher than by artificial insemination," Michael Boos, executive director for zoological operations and conservation at Ocean Park, said in a press release.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the park has been closed to visitors since late January. Staff noticed certain behaviors in the two giant pandas that are common during breeding season, which occurs every year between March and May.

"Since late March, Ying Ying began spending more time playing in the water, while Le Le has been leaving scent-markings around his habitat and searching the area for Ying Ying's scent," reads the press release.
While it is still too early to tell whether a baby panda is on the way, staff is closely monitoring Ying Ying's body and behavioral changes.

"If successful, signs of pregnancy, including hormonal level fluctuations and behavioural changes may be observed as early as late June, though there is always a chance that Ying Ying could experience a pseudo-pregnancy," said Boos.

This is big news in conversation efforts for the species that is currently listed vulnerable, one category away from being endangered, according the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. There are only around 1,800 giant pandas that remain in their natural habitat, according to Ocean Park.

"We hope to bear wonderful pregnancy news to Hong Kongers this year and make further contributions to the conservation of this vulnerable species," said Boos.

If Ying Ying is pregnant, the gestation period for giant pandas ranges between 72 and 324 days. The zoo said it will be sharing more updates on her journey to motherhood once more is known.

"The number of infected workers represents about 2.1% of the five-hospital system's 31,600 employees."

And 99% of them will survive.

Sweden has courageously decided not to endorse a harsh quarantine, and consequently it hasn’t forced its residents into lockdown. “The strategy in Sweden is to focus on social distancing among the known risk groups, like the elderly. We try to use evidence-based measurements,” Emma Frans, a doctor in epidemiology at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, told Euronews. “We try to adjust everyday life. The Swedish plan is to implement measurements that you can practice for a long time.”

The problem with lockdowns is that “you tire the system out,” Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s chief epidemiologist, told the Guardian. “You can’t keep a lockdown going for months — it’s impossible.” He told Britain’s Daily Mail: “We can’t kill all our services. And unemployed people are a great threat to public health. It’s a factor you need to think about.”

I think that's an approach worth exploring.
A friend of mine sent me that article yesterday. You know what the author doesn't note? Sweden lags behind it's neighbors Finland and Norway by orders of magnitude when it comes to death rate. In roughly 7000 Swedish cases, about 475 have died (6.8%). In roughly 5900 Norwegian cases there have been roughly 80 deaths (1.4%). In Finland there have been 2300 cases and only 27 deaths (1.2%). I bet you can figure out how Sweden is different than it's immediate neighbors. Hint: It's the approach worth exploring.
